The Music, The Artist That Drive Our Soulz

This is my current fave singer, Donna DeLory

Ever since I was a kid, music has been an integral part of my life. Thanks to my father, I was raised around showbiz and especially, the music industry.

In some form or another, I was always doing something with music. From my days playing guitar in honky tonk clubs, Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium etc. To my days as a "dj/air talent" on commercial radio such as CBS/Infinity, Cox Radio, Starr broadcasting and various other independent company owned stations.

(PLEASE TAKE THE POLL ON THE RIGHT)

I have always had one specific love. That is, "bringing new talent and music to peoples attention". That is ONE of the main reasons I know longer work for commercial radio entities.

They are to narrow minded and narrow casted for my taste.

So, how can I stay in touch with the music and accomplish the goal I have set for myself by making people aware of all the great talent in the world? Can you say "MYSPACE"? Yes, I set up my profile to not only add family and friends from around the world, but, to add talented musical people as well. Once I have "found" these folks, I give their music a listen. If they have anything to say musically, which most of them do, I try to add them to my friends list.

Once I do that, I try to promote their stuff and themselves to any and everybody on the planet. You never know when ONE person can hear something they like and basically, "make or break you".

I also try to promote these folks to clubs, promoters, music stores and anywhere that night expose their talents.

Periodically, from now on, I will do a blog posting featuring links to the myspace profile pages of some of my "talented" friends. If you click on the links, you will go to their profile where you can read info about them, AND, listen to some of their stuff. It cost you nothing! And, just might make your life a little more pleasurable. It is my way of giving something back to and, helping the music industry. These are this editions profile links:

This event will take place at The Spiral Circle beginning at 6:30 pm Wednesday evening. The Spiral Circle Bookstore is located at 750 North Thornton Ave.(corner of Thornton Ave & Park Lake St.)just north of Colonial Dr. and one block west of Mills Ave. in Orlando, Florida. If you need more info, you can call 407 894-9854.

If you would like more info on "Drum Wave", go to New Age, metaphysical, bookstore, spiritual, enlightenment . While you are there, get more info on things that may help fulfill your life. You can also see pictures of some of the rooms at Spiral Circle and their treasures by visiting my myspace profile at www.myspace.com/akuasharpe .

The "answers" are at "The Spiral Circle"!

Here is an update from the "Drum Wave" organizer Karen Hill!

Thanks so much for helping us get the word out about the Drum Wave!

Can you also help us make sure people understand this is not your 'typical' drum circle. It is based on Native American drum circle style; more ceremonial in nature. We will be singing Native American and earth-based pagan chants. I have had the exprience where people come expecting a free-style drum circle and it much more structured. I just like to make sure people are fully aware of the type of drum circle that it is. :)

Also - ALL instruments are welcome! We also ask that everyone bring one non-perishable food item to be donated to the Greater Orlando Food Bank.
Hope to see you there!

Blessings of Light and Love,
Karen

Christmas & HDTV Gifts

Well, I am writing this on December 12, 2006. Less than 2 weeks before Chritmas! The thing that motivated me to want to write this now is, "the fact that quite a few people I know and like, are looking to buy HD televisions for the holidays". They have NO clue what to look for and, what Not to be looking for. I want to help my friends make wise decisions and not get screwed up by bs.

I am somewhat an authority on these tv's since I bought my first one last holiday season '05. AND, I just bought another one tonight. I do not have enough time to put up all the do's & do nots for buying one of these tv's. However, here are a couple things to keep in mind:

1)Do NOT make the mistake too many people make, which is, buying to big a tv for your viewing distance. Most viewers sit roughly 8-12 feet from their tv. if that is the case, you need between a 32" to 42" screen for optimal viewing. You go to big, it's like being in the first row in the movie theatre.

2)Screw over paying for a tv because of the "big" name, i.e. Sony, Mitsubishi, etc. LCD is LCD, plasma is plasma, and DLP is DLP. You buy the size you want, in the format you want, with the specs you want, at the "best" price you can get. Regardless of the brand name.

3)The main things you need to know are; what size screen do I want, what format do I want(LCD, PLASMA, DLP) and the "best specs" I can get. Click this link and it will take you to a page showing the tv I just bought and, the spec chart shows you about the best specs you can get. Regardless of size!CompUSA.com: Syntax-Brillian Olevia 427V 27-inch LCD 720p HDTV - Electronics »

Yes, I now have two Syntax Olevia HDTV'S. They are great tv's and have a great price structure.Olevia.com Once you go to their site, click on "other products" to see the 4 series tv's such as mine.

If you have any questions about buying your tv, you can email me at reggae8@aol.com or, those that know me, can call me on my cell.

It's not a crime to not know something and ask questions, however, if you don't, you become one of "Bobby Sharpe's Stupid People"!

Eyes Wide Open..Immigrant Statistics

If this doesn't open your eyes...

From the L.A. Times

1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people)
are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are
predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien
Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers
are Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles
are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English.
3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L.A. County).

(All the above from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops,
but 29% are on welfare.

Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth
(and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York )
results from immigration.

The cost of immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was,
(after subtracting taxes immigrants pay), a NET $70 BILLION/
year, [Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University ]. The lifetime
fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average
adult Mexican immigrant is a NEGATIVE number.

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

If they can come to this country to raise Hell and demonstrate by
the thousands, WHY can't they take charge over the corruption
in their own country?

We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue.

THE U.S. VS MEXICO

On February 15, 1998, the U.S. and Mexican soccer teams met at the Los Angeles
Coliseum. The crowd was overwhelmingly pro-Mexican even though most lived
in this country. They booed during the National Anthem and U.S. flags were held
upside down. As the match progressed, supporters of the U.S. team were insulted,
pelted with projectiles, punched and spat upon. Beer and trash were thrown at
the U.S. players before and after the match. The coach of the U.S. team, Steve
Sampson said, "This was the most painful experience I have ever had in this
profession."

Did you know that immigrants from Mexico and other non-European countries
can come to this country and get preferences in jobs, education, and government
contracts. It's called affirmative action or racial privilege. The Emperor of Japan
or the President of Mexico could migrate here and immediately be eligible for
special rights unavailable for Americans of European descent.

Corporate America has signed on to the idea that minorities and third world
immigrants should get special, privileged status. Some examples are Exxon,
Texaco, Merrill Lynch, Boeing, Paine Weber, Starbucks and many more.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know .... that Mexico regularly intercedes on the side
of the defense in criminal cases involving Mexican nationals?

Did you know .... that Mexico has NEVER extradited a Mexican
national accused of murder in the U.S. in spite of agreements to do so?
According to the L.A. Times, Orange County , California is home to 275
gangs with 17,000 members, 98% of which are Mexican and Asian.
How's your county doing?

According to a New York Times article dated May 19, 1994, 20 years after
the great influx of legal immigrants from Southeast Asia, 30% are still on
welfare compared to 8% of households nationwide. A Wall Street Journal
editorial dated December 5, 1994 quotes law enforcement officials as stat-
ing that Asian mobsters are the "greatest criminal challenge the country
faces." Not bad for a group that is still under 5% of the population.

Is education important to you? Here are the words of a teacher who spent
over 20 years in the Los Angeles School system. "Imagine teachers in classes
containing 30-40 students of widely varying attention spans and motivation,
many of whom aren't fluent in English. Educators seek learning materials
likely to reach the majority of students and that means fewer words and
math problems and more pictures and multicultural references."

WHEN I WAS YOUNG

I remember hearing about the immigrants that came through Ellis Island .
They wanted to learn English. They wanted to breathe free. They wanted
to become Americans. Now, far too many immigrants come here with de-
mands. They demand to be taught in their own language. They demand spe-
cial privileges ... affirmative action. They demand ethnic studies that glorify
their culture.

NOW ....
WHY CAN'T WE SEND THEM HOME

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Email, write, or call your local senators, congressmen, anybody in the government you can think of that might be able to do SOMETHING!

Yeah, we can send them home. However, how about stopping them before they get here! Is that a novel idea, or what? You would NOT see this happening in China. As I have said before, "stay home and fix up your own piece of crap country and stop looking for everyone else to make your life nice"!

Alligator Suffers For MAN'S STUPIDITY

Well, here we go again. In case you have not heard, a human piece of crap is on the brink of being a "fatality" because he was attacked by a 12' alligator in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida.

Apparently, this human waste was in thick vegetation around a large lake at around 3:30 to 4am. Allegedly, he was naked and doing crack cocaine. It is unclear as to whether he was tormenting the gator, or, posed a threat to the gator. Regardless, this "loser" had NO business being there at that time.

If someone, or thing, barged into your space at 4 in the morning, uninvited and un-announced, I am sure you would respond in a manner to protect yourself, your family, and, your property. If you felt threatened for yourself or family, you could use whatever force or response you deemed necessary to protect you. "Even killing the intruder".

WHY DOESN"T THIS APPLY TO THE ALLIGATOR? It was in it's home when intruded upon by this dirtbag. Now, the state will probably "kill" the gator. THAT IS SO WRONG! Those deputies that rescued this junkie, should have left well enough alone and let nature take it's course. Heroes, I don't think so. Doing their job, yeah, at the gators expense.

In closing, how about a prayer for the gator. Got a comment, post it or email me at reggae8@aol.com

MAN=Dirtbag: Earth's Biggest Problem

"Earth's Cancer"

Please take the poll on the right of this page!

Troy Gentry Pleads Guilty to Bear Charge

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - Troy Lee Gentry pleaded guilty Monday to a misdemeanor charge of falsely registering a captive bear as being killed in the wild.

Under the plea, the 39-year-old country singer agreed to pay a $15,000 fine, give up hunting, fishing and trapping in Minnesota for five years, and forfeit both the bear's hide and the bow he used to shoot the animal in 2004.

The bear, named "Cubby," was killed in a 3-acre private enclosure.

The plea meant Gentry avoided a trial, which had been scheduled to start Monday.
Gentry, of Franklin, Tenn., declined to comment to the Star Tribune of Minneapolis as he left the courthouse.

Ron Meshbesher, his attorney, said Gentry pleaded guilty to "a simple charge having to do with improper tagging (of a game animal), and that's all it ever was."

Lee Marvin Greenly, 46, Gentry's local hunting guide, pleaded guilty at the same hearing to two felony charges of helping other hunters shoot bears at illegal baiting stations he maintained inside a national wildlife refuge near Sandstone in east-central Minnesota.

Greenly faces a maximum prison sentence of five years for each count, forfeiture of all-terrain vehicles he and employees used to reach the bait stations, and a maximum fine of $400,000.

See, this is what is wrong with the majority of this planet today. MAN, specifically white/caucasian males that think they can do as they please to whom or what they please, when they please, how they please with NO regard for the outcome of their actions and NO consideration for the lives of other living beings on this earth.

Here, this dirtbag piece of crap, was blessed by the Almighty with a talent to make his life comfortable and enjoyable, and look what he is using his blessings for. This loser is just a nother reason to take the "poll" on this page and let people know what you think.

If there is any justice, this "mistake of a human being" will one day meet his maker in the form of a quite capable bear.

Got a comment, post it! Or, email me at reggae8@aol.com .

Credit Card Smarts & Holiday Shopping

With the upcoming holiday season upon us, I thought it might be of some help to some of you if I posted this story of something that recently happened to me. Concerning credit cards!

As I am sure a bunch of you are as guilty of this as I was, this might wake you up and prod you to take some action on your finances.

I recently recieved a pre-approved credit card offer from "Discover Card". I read the offer thoroughly and agreed that this was a card I would like to have. Some of the perks were: no interest on balance transfers until January 08, no interest on purchases until June 07, no yearly membership fee, AND, cash back on all purchases, 1 % or 5 %! Great offer.

My problem was, I already have a few cards and really did not need another one. So, I figured I would pay off, by transfering the balance, one of my existing cards. The one with the highest interest rate and lowest balance. I called this particular card company to tell them what I was doing. They wanted to know why, after all these years, I wanted to leave them. I told them their interest rate was out of line and I did not want to have to pay a membership yearly fee. Not to mention that they did NOT offer cash back. I asked them why I was being subjected to the terms I had on the card when my credit score was approaching 800? The person on the phone, after a brief pause while she pulled my record, told me "she had no idea why I did not have better terms". But, she would be more than happy to lower my interest rate and try to waive my membership fee. Isn't that nice.

The point is, "you need to stay on top of your cards etc". Most of you, like me, have NO idea what your interest rate is and, "whether you can actually get a significantly better deal"! Or, at the least, get your existing deal re-worked.

In closing, "take a couple of minutes of your time and check your stuff out". You would probably be surprised at the amount of cash you are throwing away to these companies. By the way, "the Discover Card deal is worth checking into". Unless, you are one of Bobby Sharpe's "Stupid People"!

Music Music Music: The Engine That Drives Our Soulz

Ever since I was a kid, music has been an integral part of my life. Thanks to my father, I was raised around showbiz and especially, the music industry. In some form or another, I was always doing something with music.

From my days playing guitar in honky tonk clubs, Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium etc. To my days as a "dj/air talent" on commercial radio such as CBS/Infinity, Cox Radio, Starr broadcasting and various other independent company owned stations.

PS 3 Not Playing All Games

Take the poll on the right side of this page

PlayStation 3 Not Playing Some Older Games

TOKYO (AP) - Sony's PlayStation 3 game console, which went on sale in Japan over the weekend leading off a global launch, can't play some of the older games for the original PlayStation and the upgrade PlayStation 2, a company official said Tuesday.

Sony Corp. (SNE) had billed PlayStation 3 as compatible with the previous PlayStation machines.

But Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Satoshi Fukuoka said some of the 8,000 older games weren't working properly on PS3, making the wrong sounds or images, and some couldn't be played at all.

He declined to give a number for the games that weren't functioning, but he said the same problem is expected when the game console goes on sale in the U.S. Nov. 17. About 16,000 different games have been sold for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 in North America.

Fukuoka said the problems in playing the older games were not a glitch and had been expected. Sony announced the problem on its Japanese Web page Nov. 11, the day when the PS3 went on sale to lines of eager fans at Japanese retailers.

Users can punch in the name of the PS or PS2 game on the Web page, and a list will pop up, telling you if the game can be played without problems or not.

For example, all the "Biohazard" series games can be played without problem, except for one in which a virtual gun won't fire properly, according to Sony's Web page.

"We are sorry for the game fans that they cannot play all the games," Fukuoka said. "But unfortunately some of these problems could not be avoided."

PlayStation 3 is facing off in a three-way console war for this Christmas against Nintendo Co.'s Wii, which goes on sale Nov. 19 in the U.S., and Microsoft Corp. (MSFT)'s Xbox 360, which had a year's head start over rivals.

Production problems meant that only 100,000 PlayStation 3 machines were in time for its debut in Japan. When it goes on sale in the United States on Nov. 17, some 400,000 PS3 consoles will be available there.

The console's European launch has been pushed back until March. That was the second delay, as PS3 had been initially promised for spring of this year.

Sony has a lot riding on the success of the PS3, which is powered by the new "Cell" computer chip and supported by the next-generation Blu-ray video disc format.

But Sony will be losing money for a some time because of the high costs for research and production that went into the highly sophisticated machine.

The red ink is coming at a time when the Japanese electronics and entertainment company, known for the Walkman portable audio player and "Spider-Man" movies, is struggling to stage a comeback.

In recent years, Sony has fallen behind in key products like flat-panel TVs and digital music players. A fumble in its PS3 business could prove a huge blow at a time when it's seeing its brand image badly tarnished by a massive global recall of lithium-ion batteries for laptops.

Go to Sony's site and see what older games will not play on the new system before you blow off your older hardware. Especially if you have games you really like and want to be able to play at some point.

As usual, email me at reggae8@aol.com . For those of you that find this blog post elsewhere, my blog site can be found at BobbySharpe.blogspot.com .

Pennsylvania's First Casino Opens

Take the "poll" on the right side of this page

Pennsylvania's First Casino to Open

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania's first slot-machine parlor, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, is opening to the public — more than two years after the Legislature authorized gambling to raise money for property tax relief.

Thousands were expected to show up Tuesday, when the casino opens to offer all-hours legalized gambling in Pennsylvania.

The Mohegan American Indian tribe of Connecticut, owner of the Pocono Downs harness racing complex in Plains Township outside Wilkes-Barre, spent $70 million on a nicely appointed but no-frills slots parlor that includes two gambling floors with nearly 1,100 machines, a bar, and a food court with three restaurants.

"I think everybody is a little nervous but also very excited," said Robert Soper, Mohegan Sun's chief executive officer, who leads a casino staff of about 400. "It was never our goal — and frankly it was never that important to us — to open first, but certainly we are going to celebrate the fact."

Although Gov. Ed Rendell hailed the casino opening as an important first step in delivering property-tax relief to Pennsylvanians, casino opponents forecast an increase in crime and other social ills.

CasinoFreePa, an antigambling group, asked state Attorney General Tom Corbett on Monday to prevent Mohegan Sun and other Pennsylvania casinos from opening until his office investigates whether slot machines comply with fraud and consumer protection laws.

Dianne M. Berlin, the group's leader, predicted a host of negative consequences for areas of the state with casinos: "Crime, bankruptcies, divorce, people embezzling from their employers" to support their gambling addictions.

"I have story after story after story of real people who would not have done the things they did, but gambling became very convenient for them," she said. "Convenience gambling is the worst gambling."

Corbett's spokesman, Kevin Harley, said the office would investigate any consumer complaints after the casinos are open but that it is the responsibility of gambling regulators and state police to make sure the slot machines are working properly.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board gave Mohegan Sun permission to open after successful dry runs on Friday and Sunday nights. The test nights, which featured an invitation-only crowd of gamblers, brought in a total of $95,049. Of that amount, 34 percent — or $32,317 — was earmarked for property-tax relief, as prescribed by state law.

The tribe, which operates one of the world's largest casinos in Connecticut and paid $280 million for Pocono Downs in 2004, plans a second phase of development that will nearly double the number of slot machines and add retail shops, a nightclub and other amenities. The tribe said Monday it is planning to roughly double the Connecticut casino's 1,200 hotel rooms and add to its more than 6,000 slot machines and its table games.

When the Pennsylvania casino is fully operational with 2,000 machines, the slots parlor projects it will gross $230 per machine, per day, for total annual revenues of $167.9 million.

Gambling regulators awarded conditional slots licenses to Mohegan Sun and five other horse racing tracks earlier this fall. It expects to award as many as six more licenses — one to an established resort and five to standalone slots parlors — in December.

The state plans to use gambling revenues to cut taxes for homeowners and workers who pay Philadelphia's wage tax, fatten horse racing purses, and support a rent rebate program for senior citizens.

"We have a brand-new industry in Pennsylvania," said gubernatorial spokeswoman Kate Philips, "and the value of it will be exceedingly evident over the coming months as people begin to get jobs in the gaming industry and over the coming years as they begin to see their property taxes reduced dramatically."

Under state law, slot machines can pay out a minimum of $85 for every $100 wagered, meaning that plenty of gamblers will leave Mohegan Sun on Tuesday with lighter wallets.

With the potential for a large opening-day crowd, casino officials warned they might have to ask late arrivals to return another time. Total capacity, including the racetrack side of the building, is 5,000; the casino itself holds about 3,600.

"If we do exceed the building limits, we may have to turn away people," Soper said.

See, this is why this blog is called Bobby Sharpe's "Stupid People". This ignorant, want to regulate your morals "leader" of the group CasinoFreePa, Dianne M. Berlin, makes the anti casino statement "convenience gambling is the worse gambling". HELLOOOO! Have you been to a "convenience store" lately and seen how many "scratch off lottery tickets" they sell? Hey dummy, isn't that CONVENIENCE? Get a real life and STOP trying to regulate everybody else's lives. You and soon to be ex-governor Jeb Bush piss me off with your morality bs.

Three cheers for progressive thinking Ed Rendell! My man from back in the day when he was mayor of Philly.
