International Stupid-China, Germany & Russia

Dog loses control of car, causing crash

On a whim on Saturday evening, a woman let her pet dog drive her car along a street in Hohhot, capital of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

As a result, her car crashed into another car on the road.

Under the mediation of traffic police, she had to fork out a large sum of money for the driver of the damaged car for repairs.

Hohhot Evening News

Man sets himself on fire in Moscow

MOSCOW - A man doused himself with flammable liquids and set himself on fire on Red Square Sunday before dozens of shocked tourists, Russian news reports and witnesses said.

The man made no statements or gestures before the incident, which occurred around 4 p.m. in front of St. Basil's Cathedral, Russian news agencies said, citing police sources. Police extinguished the flames just moments after he set himself ablaze.

Several minutes after the incident, witnesses said the man was lying on the ground face down, surrounded by metal police gates. He appeared to be alive, moving his legs as a police officer administered first aid. Police cars ordered tourists back from the scene.

ITAR-Tass and RIA-Novosti cited paramedics as saying that he was hospitalized in critical condition and that police were trying to identify him.

Security has been tightened around Red Square in recent years, with much of the famous cobblestone area routinely blocked off by guards and police, and tourists having to pass through metal detectors.

However the area immediately in front of St. Basil's Cathedral, renowned for its brightly colored cupola domes, is relatively open to tourists.

Thieves have their cake but can't eat it

BERLIN (Reuters) - Two men broke into a supermarket depot in Germany and left with just a cake, authorities said on Tuesday.

"Sometimes people just come up with crazy ideas," said Hermann Schwichtenberg, a spokesman for police in the northern town of Itzehoe. "Now we've seen everything."

Police arrested the two men, aged 29 and 41, shortly after the late night break-in and recovered the stolen cake. A search of the men's flat uncovered no more loot.

See, it just goes to show, "people are STUPID everywhere"! Not just here in the good ole USA, like the people that want to rebuild their homes in BELOW SEA LEVEL New Orleans. Or the government trying to get displaced New Orleans natives to come back and try again. There is a plethora of "stupid people" all over this planet.

CBS TV, Survivor Tv Show, & Stupidity

(CBS/AP) A group of New York City officials blasted CBS and its hit series "Survivor" on Thursday, a day after the network announced that the teams on the new season of the reality show will be divided by race.

Saying that the setup will promote divisiveness, the officials called on CBS to reconsider its plans. "The idea of having a battle of the races is preposterous," said City Councilman John Liu. "How could anybody be so desperate for ratings?"

For the first portion of the 13th season of "Survivor," which premieres Sept. 14, the contestants competing for the $1 million prize while stranded on the Cook Islands in the South Pacific will be divided into four teams — blacks, Asians, Latinos and whites.

See, this is why this blog/site is called "Stupid People". This is why the world is in the shape it's in. This is why there is so much divisivness in this country in particular. All in pursuit of the "almighty green back". "Money talks; feelings, sensitivity, compassion & humanity walks". To hell with the after affects.

Hey CBS, since we are on this "major ratings" pursuit, don't stop with this installment of "Survivor", I have your next "Survivor" already laid out. Forget "battle of the races".

You ready for this? How about "BATTLE OF THE RELIGIONS"? That's right. Four groups. A group of Jews. A group of Christians. A group of Muslims. And finally, a group of Aetheist. Let's not pussyfoot around. Let's go all out and piss off everybody. Hell, all the crap going on in the world now is supposedly "religious" based anyway. Let's really ratchett it up a notch.

You would think that by now, humanity would start questioning itself. NOT!! The "stupidity" will continue until there is NO humanity left. Go get 'em CBS!

Madden NFL '07 EA Sports

Review: 'Madden' Can Use Some Refinement

Football video game junkies have been anxiously waiting for this week's release of "Madden NFL 07" by Electronic Arts Inc. (ERTS) The annual release of this video game franchise has become an event in itself.

But is this year's supposed latest and greatest any good? After all, spending $59.99 on a new E-rated Xbox 360 version of the game is asking a lot - especially if you were burned by last year's crummy version, which lacked many of the key features found in the older consoles.

A lot of annoyances remain, and there's plenty of room for more polish and refinement. But at least the only "next-gen" console on the market finally has a decent football game.

Visually, you'll be hard-pressed to distinguish "Madden 07" from a live TV broadcast at times.

From grass that eventually gets trampled into mottled splotches of dirt to the reflective shine of stadium lights on players' helmets, the graphics overall were very good, especially on a high-def television.

There are moments of inexplicable ugliness and some unexpected performance problems, creating an overall sensation that can be sometimes jarring.

Compare, for example, the uncanny realism of players mashing it out on the field to the freakish sameness of the gyrating fans. (During some spectator close-ups, I just had to look away, they were so crudely rendered).

Perhaps the biggest shortcoming is the game's lack of fluidity. Overall, the animations tended to stutter quite a bit, as if the Xbox 360 was choking on more pixels than it could spit out on the screen.

These issues aside, anyone who's played sports video games can tell you that the graphics don't matter if the controls stink.
Fortunately, this is where "Madden 07" shines.

The controls are probably going to be a bit overwhelming to newcomers, but they become incredibly precise with practice.

New this year is a much-heralded ability to quickly switch to your lead blocker during a running play to make way for the ball carrier. Finally, players don't have to rely on sometimes stupid artificial intelligence to clear the path for them - failure or success is your call now.

Few games have the pick up and play appeal of Madden, especially with a group of friends or roommates.

Not even a regular-season National Football League Sunday afternoon of real games can top the appeal of a friendly rivalry with pals on the virtual gridiron.

EA has finally recognized that this sort of heated competition can extend beyond the living room and across the world with the "Live Opponent" feature. Players using Microsoft Corp. (MSFT)'s Xbox Live service can now compete for prestige in tournaments and games. And all the while, a dizzying array of stats is recorded for later analysis and bragging rights.

Also new is "Madden Gamer Level," a point system of sorts that awards gamers with unlockable Hall of Fame players and other extras after they reach certain milestones.
But most intriguing for "Madden 07" is the ability to breed and groom your very own superstar.
The process begins before conception, by choosing from a mother and father with particular characteristics. My character's father was a case worker who helps the needy but has a below average IQ. The mother, meanwhile, was an intelligent casual golfer who crochets for a hobby.
This combo - according to EA anyway - was apparently the perfect recipe a future NFL quarterback.

The experience proceeds much more like a role-playing game than a typical sports game in that you have to guide your character to success by completing various tasks.

In this case, I had to hire an agent, get selected in the draft, and then claw my way though practices to prove I deserved to be playing. Interestingly, during games you're only concerned about your player; the rest of the game proceeds even if you're sitting it out on the sidelines.
It's features like this that elevate "Madden 07" beyond simple football and something with lasting replay value.

Despite the sometimes troubling graphical and performance issues, the overall experience, the depth and complexity offered here make "Madden 07" an odds-on winner for Xbox 360 owners.
Three stars out of four.

Although I have not played the game yet, my son Sean has played and is playing as I type. He gives it 4 stars so far. Anyway, football season is upon us so just go for it and have some fun!

As usual, check out www.myspace.com/akuasharpe for some music and a good time. Also, if you are getting this somewhere else, http://bobbysharpe.blogspot.com will get you the rest of my blog.

Don't forget to take the football "POLL" to the right! Have some fun and free your mind!

Willie Nelson, Wild Horses & Compassion

Willie Nelson Fights Horse Slaughter

By SUZANNE GAMBOA

WASHINGTON (AP) - Texan Willie Nelson is raising his voice in defense of a symbol of the West - wild horses. Country singer Nelson is the latest to join an effort to ban the slaughter of horses in the U.S. for consumption of their meat abroad. The U.S. House is scheduled to vote Sept. 7 on a bill aimed at ending horse slaughter.

"If you've ever been around horses a lot, especially wild horses, you know they are part of the American heritage. I don't think its right that we kill them and eat them," Nelson said in a telephone interview Tuesday.

In a news release issued this week, Nelson touts a Sept. 5 Washington rally in support of the bill sponsored by Rep. John Sweeney, R-N.Y. Nelson said he won't be at the rally, but his daughter Amy will, along with other celebrities, including former "10" star Bo Derek and Jennifer Pryor, wife of the late comedian Richard Pryor.

Nelson said he learned about the issue through country music producer Eddie Kilroy's show on satellite radio, Hank's Place, which has become Willie's Place.

"When it was Hank's Place, Eddie Kilroy was talking about the issue. He was talking about horse slaughter one day and he called me and talked about what a horrible practice that is. One thing led to another," Nelson said.

Nelson said he has owned several horses and has several buried on his ranches. "I do have a lot of respect for my horses, a lot. I don't ride them as much as I used to and I think they appreciate it," he joked.

Nelson recorded the songs "On the Road Again" and "Mama Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys."

The House bill is HR 503.

As most of you know, I am a MAJOR ANIMAL person. This is a subject and topic that really "pisses me off"! People are the worse thing that ever populated this planet. They have NO respect or appreciation for any of the other creatures on this earth. Yeah, I'm a people, and I despise me sometime.

If you have any compassion for our fellow creatures, call your politicians and support this bill. Let "humanity" do something "positive" for a change.

The Crystal Method, Nike, & Running/Workouts

The Crystal Method- Drive: Nike+ Original Run

Even if you’re The Crystal Method, with many marathon concert performances and club DJ sets to your credit, composing music to fire a 45-minute run presents a unique challenge. As creators of Drive—the inaugural Nike+ Original Run and the first in an ongoing series—Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland zeroed in on what the runner needs to stay energized for the duration of a workout.

Scott: “It’s a challenge because usually when we create music, we’re focused on what we like and what our fans will like. We’re not accustomed to thinking about a particular activity that has to go with the music. For this project, we thought about the movement and the energy that goes into exercising and running and the sort of goal-oriented activity that goes along with working out. When I’ve worked out…it’s always about goals: ‘I’m doing the uphill now, I’ve got four minutes until I get to the goal.’ So we created songs that have a lot of dynamic motion to them songs that go places.”

Ken: “I think our tempos work really well…it really helps to keep you going when you have the right tempo. This piece is a complete workout, from warm-up on, threading together different beats and sounds. Some of the music is really intense, with a high BPM for running quickly. Then you have slower sections for the cool-down.”

Using this Workout

In Drive, The Crystal Method have achieved a soundtrack that puts runners through the paces of a solid workout. It builds gradually, giving you time to warm up and find a steady rhythm. Then things get heavy, pushing you to a slightly faster stride before coming back down to earth for a well deserved cool-down.

Tune Your Run with Nike+

Seeing the results of steadfast training is the ultimate motivator. Team this workout with Nike+ and you’ll receive real-time feedback on how far and how fast you’ve run, and the ability to easily track your progress. Using Nike+
with Drive is simple:

+ Choose Time, Distance or Calories from the Workouts Menu on your iPod nano. In Settings, select either a male or female coach.
+ Dial up Drive: Nike+ Original Run Continuous Mix as your Workout Music.
+ Ready when you are: press play and let the music move you.
+ Want to know how fast you ran that last interval or how many miles you’ve covered so far? Press the center button to hear instant feedback at any time. A summary screen tallying distance, time and calories will appear when you’ve completed the workout.
+ Once back at your computer, sync your iPod nano and log onto nikeplus.com. Your workout data uploads automatically so you can compare stats and chart improvement over time on your personal Nike+ page. Talk about instant results.

The World Of Adaptation:Better Learn

In the last week or so, many things have come to past that have many people talking about "the world" of today and tomorrow. With all the war and confrontation going on in the middle east, the brain dead fascist ignorant terrorist, the problems with oil and energy use, AND, the screwed up politicians of the world, we need to focus on one word out of the dictionary. That word is "ADAPTATION".

Instead of sitting around pining for the old days when things were different. Instead of sitting around feeling sorry for yourself and wondering, "what am I gonna do now"? You need to be learning as much as you can about what today's world is all about and how YOU fit in it and will survive.

People, "GET USE TO IT", the terrorist are not going away and, the religious "jihad" is here to stay. FOREVER! Everything has, or, will change in some way shape or form. Travel, tourism, security, education, privacy, business, life in general. To borrow a line from Earth, Wind, & Fire, "That's The Way Of The World" now.

But, does this mean it is the end for mankind? Not neccessarily. After all, humans are "supposed" to be the most intelligent species on Earth. Right? Well, if that is so, we should be fine. All we have to do is "ADAPT". Just like some of the "stupid & dumb"(supposedly)species that have come before us and are still thriving. Such as the "alligator", "great white shark" and yes, "the cockroach".

In closing, if humans are supposed to be all "knowing and intelligent", then quit whinning about the delays at the airport, the price of gasoline, the bombs exploding, the combatants being killed, the politicians screwing up and whether your religion is better than theirs. ADAPT and DEAL WITH IT! This is and, will be, todays world for a long time to come.

On a lighter note, check out www.myspace.com/akuasharpe for some music and cool stuff. For those of you that need itBobby Sharpe's Blogspot bookmark this page for the whole blog. You can also email me at reggae8@aol.com .

Major Stupid People-Brazil

How not to open a grenade...

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (Reuters) - A Brazilian man died Tuesday when he tried to open what police believe was a rocket-propelled grenade with a sledgehammer in a mechanical workshop on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro.

Another man who was in the workshop at the time of the explosion was rushed to a hospital with severe burns, a police officer told Reuters. The workshop was destroyed and several cars parked outside caught fire.

Police found several unexploded army issue rocket-propelled grenades in the workshop. They believe the ammunition had been brought there by scavengers wanting to sell them as scrap metal, but they also are investigating a possible link to Rio's heavily armed drug gangs who often raid military bases.

Alright, what can I say? You know what, the name of my blog says it all, "Stupid People". Anyway, that's one less person to screw up the gene pool any more.

Madonna & Janet Jackson-The Bad Girls

Janet Jackson Poses Topless for Vibe

NEW YORK (AP) - Janet Jackson has never been afraid to expose some skin. The 40-year-old singer, newly svelte after losing some 60 pounds, appears on the cover of Vibe magazine wearing a skimpy bikini bottom and a necklace made of large shells. Her right arm covers her breasts.

Will she ever stop posing for sexy photos? "Of course. When I'm 80," she tells Vibe. "That's when I'll call it quits."

Jackson credits her boyfriend, 33-year-old music producer Jermaine Dupri, for giving her self-esteem "a little boost."

"I came to realize that younger men had less of a problem with who I am than older men," she says. "With the younger guys, there was less ego. Things were less competitive. They weren't threatened by who made more and who made less."

She says that with Dupri, she feels as if she's met her match.
"When I look at Jermaine, I see myself," Jackson says. "I feel as if I'm looking in the mirror. The connection I feel with him I have never felt with anybody else."

The pop star recently said she had packed on extra weight for a role in the upcoming movie "Tennessee," which she ultimately had to pass on because of her new record.

When asked if she'd rather have a hit album or win an Oscar, she says: "Win an Oscar. It's just a passion. But can't I have both? Everybody in my family says I'm spoiled anyway. I want both..."

Fans Cheer Madonna at Rome Concert

ROME (AP) - Religious leaders may have snubbed Madonna, but Italian fans cheered the pop star as she staged a mock crucifixion at her concert in Rome.

A crowd of 70,000 attended Sunday night's performance at Olympic Stadium, some two miles from the Vatican. The scene of Madonna on a mirrored cross and wearing a crown of thorns, part of her worldwide "Confessions" tour, had drawn fire from religious leaders, who condemned it as an act of hostility toward the Roman Catholic Church.

"She does it to play, not to offend," said Benedetta Mori, a 31-year-old fan wearing a T-shirt with an image of Madonna on the cross. "If they allowed her to stage the show here they must also play by her rules."

Madonna's representatives have said the performance on the cross, which has been included from the outset of the tour in May, is not disrespectful toward the church.

The 47-year-old singer is known for her theatrical, action-packed shows. Besides her rendition of "Live to Tell" while on the cross, her two-hour performance included two dancers with a Star of David and a Muslim crescent painted on their torsos who embraced and held hands.

A figure wearing a robe and turban did a solo on the shofar, a ram's horn traditionally blown during the Jewish high holidays, then joined Madonna, who is a kabbalist, to perform "Isaac," a song about Yitzhak Luria, a 16th-century Jewish mystic and kabbalah scholar.

"Two miracles have happened," Madonna told the crowd. "Italy won the World Cup and it stopped raining before my show."

Keeping in touch with her Material Girl side, she got the crowd moving with her gyrating dancing and disco-flavored numbers.

"Ciao Roma! Are you ready to ride with me?" said the equestrian-styled singer as she opened a concert that included "Hung Up,""Music,""Like a Virgin" and "La Isla Bonita."

Well, there you have it. The latest concerning two of pop musics all time icons. Ladies, do your thing! To hell with anybody that is, no pun intended Madonna, "hung up" with your antics.

If you would like to check out some of Madonna's latest stuff, go towww.myspace.com/akuasharpe and click on Madonna's picture in my friends list. That will take you to her profile page and music player.

Clearwater Beach Florida:Vacation Time

People are always asking me, "Bobby, where do you and your family go on vacation"? Well, to be honest with you, "the back yard". Seriously, we have a fenced in yard with palm trees etc., and, a huge in ground swimming pool and a patio and grill. Hell, why do I need to go anywhere?

When we DO decide to go somewhere, however, it is usually to Clearwater Beach. We just seem to "love" Clearwater Beach. The beaches there are really clean and nice. Everything is kind of compact where you can pretty much walk to whatever you want to get to. The place is clean and BEAUTIFUL! The whole vibe there is just really good.

If you go to Clearwater Beach, you have to be into the beach, fishing, any watersports or, just chillin'. There are NO theme parks or golf courses or gaming venues. IT'S THE BEACH!

There are some NICE places to stay, some "not great" places to stay, and, there is "SHEPHARDS".Clearwater Beach Hotel - Shephard's Beach Resort and Hotel in Clearwater, Flor. Shephards has the "most awesome" buffet I have ever seen. They have a killer water side deck with bar and live music. Plus, dynamite indoor club/lounge. If you are thinking of going to Clearwater Beach, you might want to check this place out "FIRST".

As usual, for some fun and music, check outwww.myspace.com/akuasharpe. For email, reggae8@aol.com. Don't forget to take the poll at the right on "music groups"!
