Jimi Hendrix: 40th Anniversary of Crossing Over

Bobby Sharpe Jimi was like no other. I first met him in one of those Harlem clubs where everybody thought he was some kind of freak. That is why he migrated to the Village, because the "brothers" couldn't appreciate what he was doing. The last time I saw Jimi, was in Sam Ash on 46th st. in Manhattan. About 7 months or so before he ...crossed over. We had a great conversation, and, Jimi was not happy with things. He felt as though he was not being appreciated for his music and talent and had become nothing more than some kind of freak show spectacle. I told him that he created that image and thats what most people wanted to experience. I do miss him in the physical, but, as long as his music is here, "so is he".
