Loch Ness Monster, NEW VIDEO

Man Says His Video Shows Loch Ness Monster
By BEN McCONVILLE

EDINBURGH, Scotland (May 31) - The Loch Ness monster is back - and there's video. A man has captured what Nessie watchers say is possible footage of the supposed mythical creature beneath Scotland's most mysterious lake.
"I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this jet black thing, about 45 feet long, moving fairly fast in the water," said Gordon Holmes, the 55-year-old a lab technician from Shipley, Yorkshire, who took the video Saturday.
Nessie watcher and marine biologist Adrian Shine viewed the video and hoped to properly analyze it in the coming months.
"I see myself as a skeptical interpreter of what happens in the loch, but I do keep an open mind about these things and there is no doubt this is some of the best footage I have seen," said Shine, of the Loch Ness 2000 center in Drumnadrochit, on the shores of the lake.
Holmes said whatever it was moved at about 6 mph and kept a fairly straight course.
"My initial thought is it could be a very big eel, they have serpent-like features and they may explain all the sightings in Loch Ness over the years."
Loch Ness is surrounded by myth. It's the largest inland body of water in Britain, and at about 750 feet to the bottom, it's even deeper than the North Sea.
"There are a number of possible explanations to the sightings in the loch. It could be some biological creature, it could just be the waves of the loch or it could some psychological phenomenon in as much as we see what we want to see," Shine said.
While many sightings can be attributed to a drop of the local whisky, legends of Scottish monsters date back to one of the founders of the Christian church in Scotland, St. Columba, who wrote of them in about 565 A.D.
More recently, there have been more than 4,000 purported Nessie sightings since she was first caught on camera by a surgeon on vacation in the 1930s.
Since then, the faithful have speculated about it is a completely unknown species, a sturgeon - even though they have not been native to Scotland's waters for many years - or even a last surviving dinosaur.
Real or imagined, Nessie has long been a Scottish emblem. She has been the muse for cuddly toys and immortalized on T-shirts and posters showing her classic three-humped image.
On Thursday, a group of Scottish business owners launched a bid to nominate Loch Ness for World Heritage site status - though they cited its natural beauty, not Nessie. The Destination Loch Ness consortium must submit the nomination to the British government, which would decide whether to forward it to UNESCO.
The Scottish media is skeptical of Nessie stories but Holmes' footage is of such good quality that even the normally reticent BBC Scotland aired the video on its main news program Tuesday.
Now, YOU know ME, I believe in all this kind of stuff. Not to mention, "I consider myself to be fairly intelligent". If something has been going on in this lake/lock since 565AD, there has to be some validity to something. If it's a Godzilla sized eel, or, fish, let us know. Speaking of Godzilla, nice picture, huh?

iGoogle, Stupid driver, Cool Picture

I promised that I would "try" to stay away from negativity and focus exclusively on the positive attributes of humans and their "stuff". However, as much as I would like to say that, "they are just pale yellows and cannot help themselves", well, sometimes "stupid" rears it's head and says, "hey, I'm still here"! This can be witnessed by the short story posted below. Enjoy!

BERLIN (Reuters) - A German mistook a subway entrance for an underground car park and her vehicle got stuck on the stairs, police said on Wednesday.
The 52-year-old drove her Volkswagen Beetle across the pavement in central Duesseldorf and into the entrance where it ground to a halt about five steps down, police said.
Police estimated the damage at around 1,500 euros ($2,000).

Memorial Day Weekend List Of Things To Do

For those of YOU that cannot figure out what to do this Memorial Day Weekend, here are a few suggestions. Take them for what they are worth to YOU!
1)Find a vacant spot somewhere, and, start drilling for oil.
2)Do an ancestry search online and see if YOU can find a rich aunt or uncle somewhere to cover your gasoline expenses.
3)Walk to the movie and see "Pirates 3" or "Shrek 3" or something "3".
4)Spend the weekend emailing all of YOUR politicians "bitching" about the price of gasoline.
5)Email all of YOUR politicians and tell them how YOU really feel about "illegal" immigrants. You'll feel better!
6)Don't barbeque with a "gas" grill. Use charcoal or wood.
7)Instead of "driving" all over the place, stay in YOUR neighborhood and do some stuff with the neighbors YOU don't know yet.
8)Have YOUR own "memorial service", in YOUR own way, for any soul that YOU were close to that has crossed over. Parents, relatives, friends or pets.
9)Take some time for YOU! Quiet time by YOURSELF to meditate, relax and just look within and chill.
10)Since this is the "un-official" start of summer, let it be a start for YOU to attain some goals YOU set for YOURSELF to complete by summers end.
Have a great Memorial Day Weekend! Remember, "what YOU think and thank about, is what YOU bring about"!

Click It OR Ticket This!

Take the poll on the right side of page!

Well, here we go again! As I have stated many times before on this blog and other places, "either I am totally ignorant, OR, my intellect is light years ahead of the so called "powers that be", our elected or appointed, political officials".

As we get ready for the long Memorial Day Weekend 2007, our "rocket scientist" leaders choose to bombard and saturate the print and electronic media with ads for their "click it or ticket"campaign to save US from ourselves. They have even gone the "religious" scare tactic route. "If you get a ticket, it will cost YOU $70 whatever dollars". "However, if you have a wreck, and are not wearing your belt, the medical cost could be astronomical". Could ruin your life in many ways. I am shaking in my boots! Give me a freaking break! That's like saying, "if you buy that beach house, you could get wiped out by a tsunami or hurricane". If YOU plan on disaster, YOU will get disaster!

The first quarter of this year 2007, Orlando area tourism is DOWN .9 % over the same period as last year. Our crime rate last year, was through the roof. This year, MAY TOP LAST YEAR! People shooting people, hi-jacking cars, dealing drugs, smashing vehicles into buildings so they can enter and rob the place and robbing and mugging tourist. So, with all this CRIME going on, "let's take our law enforcement agents and get out on the roads and harass people for NOT wearing a seatbelt"! "Hey, as a tax paying citizen, I want MY police/sheriffs out catching real criminals". NOT pussy footing around annoying other tax paying citizens with their "seatbelt bullshit"! Makes perfect sense to me and quite a few people I know.

Yeah, seatbelts save lives. If I choose to wear one, that's on ME! Unless YOU are making my car payment, or, supporting ME, "write the ticket, because I AM NOT WEARING MY BELT UNLESS I DECIDE TO DO IT. Ticket that!

Oh, unless law enforcement actually starts cracking down on "real criminals", don't call my house for a donation!

R and B Legends Bo Diddley & Ike Turner

Diddley Improves After Suffering Stroke
By ERIC OLSON

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Four days after suffering a stroke, Bo Diddley walked around the intensive-care unit at Creighton University Medical Center, and doctors were encouraged that the singer-songwriter-guitarist would be able to perform again, his manager said.

The 78-year-old Diddley told his audience that he wasn't feeling well during a show in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Saturday night. Diddley's manager, Margo Lewis, said she had the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer taken to the hospital by ambulance when he appeared disoriented at the Omaha airport on Sunday.

Though Diddley's speech is impaired, he's made significant progress.
"We're going to get a guitar for him and put it in his lap and let him entertain people here," Lewis said from the hospital. "People think that would be good therapy for him."

Diddley, with his black glasses and low-slung guitar, has been an icon in the music industry since he topped the R&B charts with "Bo Diddley" in 1955. His other hits include "Who Do You Love,""Before You Accuse Me,""Mona" and "I'm a Man."

Diddley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and was given a lifetime achievement Grammy in 1998.

Lewis said it's uncertain how long Diddley, who has a history of hypertension and diabetes, will be hospitalized in Omaha.

He played two Saturday night shows at Harrah's Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs. He planned to fly home to Archer, Fla., before starting a monthlong tour of the Midwest and United Kingdom on May 20 in Dallas.

Those shows are canceled, Lewis said, but she believes Diddley will sing again, even though he'll require speech therapy first.

"Singing a song is different than speaking," she said. "Even when there is a problem with speaking, or hesitancy, we've seen where people can sing perfectly."

Ike Turner Jailed on Old Warrant in LA

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ike Turner spent a night in jail after he was arrested on a 1989 narcotics warrant that turned out to be invalid, police said.

The 75-year-old musician and ex-husband of Tina Turner was spotted on Interstate 405 in the San Fernando Valley about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Police officers saw his 2002 silver Mercedes-Benz S-50 doing more than 80 mph and straddling lanes, Officer April Harding said Thursday.

The car was stopped after it left the freeway and officers ran a check for warrants, which is routine, Harding said.

They found he had an old felony narcotics warrant and Turner was arrested and booked into a downtown jail, Harding said.

"He had court yesterday and I guess that they deemed it was an old warrant that was never removed from the system," Harding said.

Turner was freed from jail about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Turner first appeared in Superior Court on the warrant in December 1989 and the warrant was recalled that same day, said Mary Hearn, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Thought some of YOU music fans and historians might like to see what is up with a couple music "legends". My best wishes go out to Bo and his family. Since I have had the pleasure of doing numerous gigs with him over the years, I want the best for a friend and all around great soul/human being.

Here is a link to the latest update on Bo Diddley's condition as of May 21, 2007.

'Halo 3' to Land in Stores in September

DALLAS (AP) - Legions of Master Chief fans can now mark their calendars for Sept. 25. That's when "Halo 3," the newest sci-fi video game saga and the first specifically designed for Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) (MSFT)'s Xbox 360 console, is expected to arrive on store shelves.

The first-person shooter is the latest addition to the company's popular science fiction franchise in which an armor-clad human space soldier fights alien hordes in sprawling single and online multiplayer battles.

Shane Kim, corporate vice president for Microsoft Game Studios, predicted sales would surpass those of "Halo 2," which the company claims reached $125 million within the first 24 hours in 2004.

"In terms of great exclusive content this is the biggest weapon that we have," he said.

The announcement comes as a "beta," or test version, of "Halo 3" is being offered to consumers through June 6, allowing players to test out some of the game's multiplayer features ahead of schedule.

The beta only shows the game's multiplayer online aspects, however. Details of the single-player story remain a secret, Kim said.

"Halo 3" will be available in three versions: a "standard" edition for $59.99, a "limited edition" that includes features about the making of the game for $69.99, and a $129.99 "legendary edition" that is packaged with a large metal helmet that looks like the one worn by the game's protagonist, Master Chief.

Religious Fanatic Jerry Falwell, Passed

Famed Televangelist Dies at Age 73
By SUE LINDSEY

LYNCHBURG, Va. (May 15) - The Rev. Jerry Falwell , known both for his scathing comments linking the Sept. 11 attacks to homosexuality and liberals and for shaping the conservative Christian right into a major force in U.S. politics during the Reagan years, died Tuesday. He was 73.

As one of my friends and one of my "spiritual" teachers always tells me, "everything you do and think should be with a positive approach". Even when it is a "negative" event, you should turn it into a positive as best as possible. So, let me try and take a crack at this with the passing of Jerry Falwell.

I do NOT rejoice at the passing of anyone or any thing. Though in some instances, it's like, "oh well"! In Jerry Falwell's situation, I am not happy OR sad. As a matter of fact, his passing kind of fits with my beliefs on "crossing over". It is highly inevitable and is "synchronized" to play out exactly the way, where, and the time that it takes place. In the world of "spiritualism", passing, crossing over, or, dyeing, is not looked upon as such a terrible thing. But, as a freeing of the "soul" to move on to higher places and the next challenge. However, all of THAT is for another time and posting.

The positive aspect of Falwell's passing is, "we now have one less "righteous, so called God fearing, moralistic, close minded, to far to the right zealot trying to tell us how to live our lives and regulate our morals as if we do not have "free will" to figure that stuff out for ourselves. And all of this being perpetuated through "religious fear". We don't do as we are told, we invoke the "wrath of God"! Don't want that happening. Do we?

In all respect, Jerry Falwell was no better or worse than any of the other "religious fanatics" on this Earth. And just like them, it is all done through "fear". That's religion for you. However, the ones who should be morned on this day, are the "pale yellow" souls who are so easily sucked in by uninformed "prophets" like this.

Jerry Falwell formed "The Moral Majority". He is now a member of "The SILENT Majority". You can get more of this story at iWon News - TV Evangelist Jerry Falwell Dies at 73 Top News- Famed Televangelist Dies at Age 73 - AOL News

Conscious Words=Language Power

Feeling Our Words

Words Have Weight

Words carry energy and this gives language its power and its potential to heal or hurt. Most of us can remember a time that someone sent a word our way, and it stuck with us. It may have been the first time we received a truly accurate compliment, or the time a friend or sibling called us a name, but either way it stuck.

This experience reminds us that what we say has weight and power and that being conscious means being aware of how we use words. The more conscious we become, the more we deepen our relationship to the words we use so that we speak from a place of actually feeling what we are saying.

We begin to recognize that words are not abstract, disconnected entities used only to convey meaning; they are powerful transmitters of feeling. For the next few days, you might want to practice noticing how the words you say and hear affect your body and your emotional state.

Notice how the different communication styles of the people in your life make you feel. Also, watch closely to see how your own words come out and what affect they have on the people around you.

You may notice that when we speak quickly, without thinking, or rush to get our ideas across, our words don't carry the same power as when we speak slowly and confidently, allowing those receiving our words time and space to take them in. When we carefully listen to others before we speak, our words have more integrity, and when we take time to center ourselves before speaking, we truly begin to harness the power of speech.

Then our words can be intelligent messengers of healing and light, transmitting deep and positive feelings to those who receive them.

Just a little something that I picked up that re-inforces what we have all been told or taught at sometime or another. "Think before you speak"! Hey, we all NEED wake up calls on just about everything now and then. This IS one of those things. After all, this is "Opyn Mindz"!

The Internet vs The World Wide Web

The Difference Between the Internet and the World Wide Web

Many people use the terms Internet and World Wide Web (a.k.a. the Web) interchangeably, but in fact the two terms are not synonymous. The Internet and the Web are two separate but related things.

The Internet is a massive network of networks, a networking infrastructure. It connects millions of computers together globally, forming a network in which any computer can communicate with any other computer as long as they are both connected to the Internet. Information that travels over the Internet does so via a variety of languages known as protocols.

The World Wide Web, or simply Web, is a way of accessing information over the medium of the Internet. It is an information-sharing model that is built on top of the Internet. The Web uses the HTTP protocol, only one of the languages spoken over the Internet, to transmit data. Web services, which use HTTP to allow applications to communicate in order to exchange business logic, use the the Web to share information. The Web also utilizes browsers, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape, to access Web documents called Web pages that are linked to each other via hyperlinks. Web documents also contain graphics, sounds, text and video.

The Web is just one of the ways that information can be disseminated over the Internet. The Internet, not the Web, is also used for e-mail, which relies on SMTP, Usenet news groups, instant messaging and FTP.

So the Web is just a portion of the Internet, albeit a large portion, but the two terms are not synonymous and should not be confused.

Well, there you have it. THEY ARE DIFFERENT! Now You know. Hope this helps make your life alot less stressful. lol By the way, the picture of Godzilla is there "just because".

No Brain, No Game:New Brain Wave Toys Etc

New Toys Read Brain Waves

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - A convincing twin of Darth Vader stalks the beige cubicles of a Silicon Valley office, complete with ominous black mask, cape and light saber.

But this is no chintzy Halloween costume. It's a prototype, years in the making, of a toy that incorporates brain wave-reading technology.

Behind the mask is a sensor that touches the user's forehead and reads the brain's electrical signals, then sends them to a wireless receiver inside the saber, which lights up when the user is concentrating. The player maintains focus by channeling thoughts on any fixed mental image, or thinking specifically about keeping the light sword on. When the mind wanders, the wand goes dark.

Engineers at NeuroSky Inc. have big plans for brain wave-reading toys and video games. They say the simple Darth Vader game - a relatively crude biofeedback device cloaked in gimmicky garb - portends the coming of more sophisticated devices that could revolutionize the way people play.

This is some really cool technology! However, if you were to mentally challenged to play regular video games etc, YOU will certainly have problems with this. lol
