Alligator Suffers For MAN'S STUPIDITY

Well, here we go again. In case you have not heard, a human piece of crap is on the brink of being a "fatality" because he was attacked by a 12' alligator in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida.

Apparently, this human waste was in thick vegetation around a large lake at around 3:30 to 4am. Allegedly, he was naked and doing crack cocaine. It is unclear as to whether he was tormenting the gator, or, posed a threat to the gator. Regardless, this "loser" had NO business being there at that time.

If someone, or thing, barged into your space at 4 in the morning, uninvited and un-announced, I am sure you would respond in a manner to protect yourself, your family, and, your property. If you felt threatened for yourself or family, you could use whatever force or response you deemed necessary to protect you. "Even killing the intruder".

WHY DOESN"T THIS APPLY TO THE ALLIGATOR? It was in it's home when intruded upon by this dirtbag. Now, the state will probably "kill" the gator. THAT IS SO WRONG! Those deputies that rescued this junkie, should have left well enough alone and let nature take it's course. Heroes, I don't think so. Doing their job, yeah, at the gators expense.

In closing, how about a prayer for the gator. Got a comment, post it or email me at reggae8@aol.com

MAN=Dirtbag: Earth's Biggest Problem

"Earth's Cancer"

Please take the poll on the right of this page!

Troy Gentry Pleads Guilty to Bear Charge

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - Troy Lee Gentry pleaded guilty Monday to a misdemeanor charge of falsely registering a captive bear as being killed in the wild.

Under the plea, the 39-year-old country singer agreed to pay a $15,000 fine, give up hunting, fishing and trapping in Minnesota for five years, and forfeit both the bear's hide and the bow he used to shoot the animal in 2004.

The bear, named "Cubby," was killed in a 3-acre private enclosure.

The plea meant Gentry avoided a trial, which had been scheduled to start Monday.
Gentry, of Franklin, Tenn., declined to comment to the Star Tribune of Minneapolis as he left the courthouse.

Ron Meshbesher, his attorney, said Gentry pleaded guilty to "a simple charge having to do with improper tagging (of a game animal), and that's all it ever was."

Lee Marvin Greenly, 46, Gentry's local hunting guide, pleaded guilty at the same hearing to two felony charges of helping other hunters shoot bears at illegal baiting stations he maintained inside a national wildlife refuge near Sandstone in east-central Minnesota.

Greenly faces a maximum prison sentence of five years for each count, forfeiture of all-terrain vehicles he and employees used to reach the bait stations, and a maximum fine of $400,000.

See, this is what is wrong with the majority of this planet today. MAN, specifically white/caucasian males that think they can do as they please to whom or what they please, when they please, how they please with NO regard for the outcome of their actions and NO consideration for the lives of other living beings on this earth.

Here, this dirtbag piece of crap, was blessed by the Almighty with a talent to make his life comfortable and enjoyable, and look what he is using his blessings for. This loser is just a nother reason to take the "poll" on this page and let people know what you think.

If there is any justice, this "mistake of a human being" will one day meet his maker in the form of a quite capable bear.

Credit Card Smarts & Holiday Shopping

With the upcoming holiday season upon us, I thought it might be of some help to some of you if I posted this story of something that recently happened to me. Concerning credit cards!

As I am sure a bunch of you are as guilty of this as I was, this might wake you up and prod you to take some action on your finances.

I recently recieved a pre-approved credit card offer from "Discover Card". I read the offer thoroughly and agreed that this was a card I would like to have. Some of the perks were: no interest on balance transfers until January 08, no interest on purchases until June 07, no yearly membership fee, AND, cash back on all purchases, 1 % or 5 %! Great offer.

My problem was, I already have a few cards and really did not need another one. So, I figured I would pay off, by transfering the balance, one of my existing cards. The one with the highest interest rate and lowest balance. I called this particular card company to tell them what I was doing. They wanted to know why, after all these years, I wanted to leave them. I told them their interest rate was out of line and I did not want to have to pay a membership yearly fee. Not to mention that they did NOT offer cash back. I asked them why I was being subjected to the terms I had on the card when my credit score was approaching 800? The person on the phone, after a brief pause while she pulled my record, told me "she had no idea why I did not have better terms". But, she would be more than happy to lower my interest rate and try to waive my membership fee. Isn't that nice.

The point is, "you need to stay on top of your cards etc". Most of you, like me, have NO idea what your interest rate is and, "whether you can actually get a significantly better deal"! Or, at the least, get your existing deal re-worked.

In closing, "take a couple of minutes of your time and check your stuff out". You would probably be surprised at the amount of cash you are throwing away to these companies. By the way, "the Discover Card deal is worth checking into". Unless, you are one of Bobby Sharpe's "Stupid People"!

Got a comment, post it! Or, email me at reggae8@aol.com .

Music Music Music: The Engine That Drives Our Soulz

Ever since I was a kid, music has been an integral part of my life. Thanks to my father, I was raised around showbiz and especially, the music industry. In some form or another, I was always doing something with music.

From my days playing guitar in honky tonk clubs, Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium etc. To my days as a "dj/air talent" on commercial radio such as CBS/Infinity, Cox Radio, Starr broadcasting and various other independent company owned stations. I have always had one specific love. That is, "bringing new talent and music to peoples attention". That is ONE of the main reasons I know longer work for commercial radio entities. They are to narrow minded and narrow casted for my taste.

So, how can I stay in touch with the music and accomplish the goal I have set for myself by making people aware of all the great talent in the world? Can you say "MYSPACE"? Yes, I set up my profile to not only add family and friends from around the world, but, to add talented musical people as well. Once I have "found" these folks, I give their music a listen. If they have anything to say musically, which most of them do, I try to add them to my friends list. Once I do that, I try to promote their stuff and themselves to any and everybody on the planet. You never know when ONE person can hear something they like and basically, "make or break you". I also try to promote these folks to clubs, promoters, music stores and anywhere that night expose their talents.

Periodically, from now on, I will do a blog posting featuring links to the myspace profile pages of some of my "talented" friends. If you click on the links, you will go to their profile where you can read info about them, AND, listen to some of their stuff. It cost you nothing! And, just might make your life a little more pleasurable. It is my way of giving something back to and, helping the music industry.

PS 3 Not Playing All Games

Take the poll on the right side of this page

PlayStation 3 Not Playing Some Older Games

TOKYO (AP) - Sony's PlayStation 3 game console, which went on sale in Japan over the weekend leading off a global launch, can't play some of the older games for the original PlayStation and the upgrade PlayStation 2, a company official said Tuesday.

Sony Corp. (SNE) had billed PlayStation 3 as compatible with the previous PlayStation machines.

But Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Satoshi Fukuoka said some of the 8,000 older games weren't working properly on PS3, making the wrong sounds or images, and some couldn't be played at all.

He declined to give a number for the games that weren't functioning, but he said the same problem is expected when the game console goes on sale in the U.S. Nov. 17. About 16,000 different games have been sold for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 in North America.

Fukuoka said the problems in playing the older games were not a glitch and had been expected. Sony announced the problem on its Japanese Web page Nov. 11, the day when the PS3 went on sale to lines of eager fans at Japanese retailers.

Users can punch in the name of the PS or PS2 game on the Web page, and a list will pop up, telling you if the game can be played without problems or not.

For example, all the "Biohazard" series games can be played without problem, except for one in which a virtual gun won't fire properly, according to Sony's Web page.

"We are sorry for the game fans that they cannot play all the games," Fukuoka said. "But unfortunately some of these problems could not be avoided."

PlayStation 3 is facing off in a three-way console war for this Christmas against Nintendo Co.'s Wii, which goes on sale Nov. 19 in the U.S., and Microsoft Corp. (MSFT)'s Xbox 360, which had a year's head start over rivals.

Production problems meant that only 100,000 PlayStation 3 machines were in time for its debut in Japan. When it goes on sale in the United States on Nov. 17, some 400,000 PS3 consoles will be available there.

The console's European launch has been pushed back until March. That was the second delay, as PS3 had been initially promised for spring of this year.

Sony has a lot riding on the success of the PS3, which is powered by the new "Cell" computer chip and supported by the next-generation Blu-ray video disc format.

But Sony will be losing money for a some time because of the high costs for research and production that went into the highly sophisticated machine.

The red ink is coming at a time when the Japanese electronics and entertainment company, known for the Walkman portable audio player and "Spider-Man" movies, is struggling to stage a comeback.

In recent years, Sony has fallen behind in key products like flat-panel TVs and digital music players. A fumble in its PS3 business could prove a huge blow at a time when it's seeing its brand image badly tarnished by a massive global recall of lithium-ion batteries for laptops.

Go to Sony's site and see what older games will not play on the new system before you blow off your older hardware. Especially if you have games you really like and want to be able to play at some point.

As usual, email me at reggae8@aol.com . For those of you that find this blog post elsewhere, my blog site can be found at BobbySharpe.blogspot.com .

Pennsylvania's First Casino Opens

Take the "poll" on the right side of this page

Pennsylvania's First Casino to Open

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania's first slot-machine parlor, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, is opening to the public — more than two years after the Legislature authorized gambling to raise money for property tax relief.

Thousands were expected to show up Tuesday, when the casino opens to offer all-hours legalized gambling in Pennsylvania.

The Mohegan American Indian tribe of Connecticut, owner of the Pocono Downs harness racing complex in Plains Township outside Wilkes-Barre, spent $70 million on a nicely appointed but no-frills slots parlor that includes two gambling floors with nearly 1,100 machines, a bar, and a food court with three restaurants.

"I think everybody is a little nervous but also very excited," said Robert Soper, Mohegan Sun's chief executive officer, who leads a casino staff of about 400. "It was never our goal — and frankly it was never that important to us — to open first, but certainly we are going to celebrate the fact."

Although Gov. Ed Rendell hailed the casino opening as an important first step in delivering property-tax relief to Pennsylvanians, casino opponents forecast an increase in crime and other social ills.

CasinoFreePa, an antigambling group, asked state Attorney General Tom Corbett on Monday to prevent Mohegan Sun and other Pennsylvania casinos from opening until his office investigates whether slot machines comply with fraud and consumer protection laws.

Dianne M. Berlin, the group's leader, predicted a host of negative consequences for areas of the state with casinos: "Crime, bankruptcies, divorce, people embezzling from their employers" to support their gambling addictions.

"I have story after story after story of real people who would not have done the things they did, but gambling became very convenient for them," she said. "Convenience gambling is the worst gambling."

Corbett's spokesman, Kevin Harley, said the office would investigate any consumer complaints after the casinos are open but that it is the responsibility of gambling regulators and state police to make sure the slot machines are working properly.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board gave Mohegan Sun permission to open after successful dry runs on Friday and Sunday nights. The test nights, which featured an invitation-only crowd of gamblers, brought in a total of $95,049. Of that amount, 34 percent — or $32,317 — was earmarked for property-tax relief, as prescribed by state law.

The tribe, which operates one of the world's largest casinos in Connecticut and paid $280 million for Pocono Downs in 2004, plans a second phase of development that will nearly double the number of slot machines and add retail shops, a nightclub and other amenities. The tribe said Monday it is planning to roughly double the Connecticut casino's 1,200 hotel rooms and add to its more than 6,000 slot machines and its table games.

When the Pennsylvania casino is fully operational with 2,000 machines, the slots parlor projects it will gross $230 per machine, per day, for total annual revenues of $167.9 million.

Gambling regulators awarded conditional slots licenses to Mohegan Sun and five other horse racing tracks earlier this fall. It expects to award as many as six more licenses — one to an established resort and five to standalone slots parlors — in December.

The state plans to use gambling revenues to cut taxes for homeowners and workers who pay Philadelphia's wage tax, fatten horse racing purses, and support a rent rebate program for senior citizens.

"We have a brand-new industry in Pennsylvania," said gubernatorial spokeswoman Kate Philips, "and the value of it will be exceedingly evident over the coming months as people begin to get jobs in the gaming industry and over the coming years as they begin to see their property taxes reduced dramatically."

Under state law, slot machines can pay out a minimum of $85 for every $100 wagered, meaning that plenty of gamblers will leave Mohegan Sun on Tuesday with lighter wallets.

With the potential for a large opening-day crowd, casino officials warned they might have to ask late arrivals to return another time. Total capacity, including the racetrack side of the building, is 5,000; the casino itself holds about 3,600.

"If we do exceed the building limits, we may have to turn away people," Soper said.

See, this is why this blog is called Bobby Sharpe's "Stupid People". This ignorant, want to regulate your morals "leader" of the group CasinoFreePa, Dianne M. Berlin, makes the anti casino statement "convenience gambling is the worse gambling". HELLOOOO! Have you been to a "convenience store" lately and seen how many "scratch off lottery tickets" they sell? Hey dummy, isn't that CONVENIENCE? Get a real life and STOP trying to regulate everybody else's lives. You and soon to be ex-governor Jeb Bush piss me off with your morality bs.

Three cheers for progressive thinking Ed Rendell! My man from back in the day when he was mayor of Philly.

Feel free to post any comments or thoughts. As usual, reach me at reggae8@aol.com .

New Generation Games Hitting Stores: PS3 & Wii

Next-Gen Gaming Consoles to Hit Stores

After years of hype and speculation, the latest round of video game console wars is finally about to begin.

Unlike past battles waged since the 1970s, consumers this time around will have some truly distinct options among three contenders, as each device is tuned to different tastes and budgets.
The sleek PlayStation 3 by Sony Corp. (SNE) is the priciest system, crammed with the very latest in cutting-edge technology. The Xbox 360 from Microsoft Corp. (MSFT), meanwhile, has had a yearlong head start to build a fan base.

By touting intuitive controls over fancy graphics, Nintendo Co. has billed its Wii as a simpler, cheaper alternative to Microsoft's and Sony's offerings.

If you compare the trio to automobiles, said Bruno Bonnell, chairman and chief creative officer at publishing giant Atari Inc. (ATAR), the PS3 "is a kind of prototype Formula 1. The Wii is definitely a fun car, a Mini Cooper or a Beetle, something that everybody can enjoy riding. The 360 fulfills so much of the demand of the standard player, it's one of the Toyotas or standard GM cars."

The Wii and the PS3 go on sale in the United States within two days of each other this month, but getting one in time for Christmas could be a daunting task.

"November is going to be the most exciting month for video games for probably the next five or six years," said Tom Russo, editorial director at the G4 Games cable television network. "But everyone's going to sell out this season."

Sony, which has already delayed the PS3 launch twice, expects to have only 400,000 PS3s available for its Nov. 17 U.S. launch. Already, bidders on eBay have staked their claim on pre-ordered systems for more than $2,300 - almost four times higher than the system's top retail price. On Saturday, the console debuted in Japan to long lines and word of near-immediate sellouts.

Nintendo expects to have 4 million Wiis ready worldwide when the console hits store shelves Nov. 19, with the bulk of those going to North America.

Microsoft, burned by supply shortfalls during the Xbox 360's launch last Christmas, expects to sell more than 10 million systems by the end of 2006.

Worldwide, Sony expects to ship only 2 million units by year's end instead of an original projection of 4 million, but a company executive shrugged off long-term supply concerns and expressed confidence that manufacturing problems will soon be fixed.

"Regardless of what the number is, we're going to take knocks," said Jack Tretton, executive vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment America. "It really has no bearing on what we're ultimately going to sell."

All three devices are taking the video game industry in new directions and promise to serve as centerpieces for an era of digital entertainment where games, movies and music coexist in a single, Internet-enabled box. But games will continue to be the main draw.

The Wii, pronounced "We," will be available for $250. Instead of sheer computing power, the Wii's primary attraction is a wireless controller that tracks movements to mimic a football pass or the swing of a golf club.

The Wii can't display high-definition video, and the system's storage and processing power are limited compared to the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

Perrin Kaplan, vice president for marketing at Nintendo's U.S. headquarters in Redmond, Wash., said the Wii is about attracting newcomers to video games, so cutting-edge technology isn't needed.

"We're not launching rocket ships," she said. "Everyone is going to bigger, badder machines. We have taken a complete right turn. It either fails or succeeds, and we're not afraid of that."

Two flavors of Sony's sleek black or silver PS3 will debut: a $600 version with a 60-gigabyte hard drive, built-in wireless and a Blu-ray player for high-def video. A version costing $100 less has a 20-gigabyte drive and fewer features.

Returning with a few tweaks from last year, the Xbox 360 comes in two models costing $300 and $400, depending on options. An attachment to play high-def movies in the HD DVD format, chief rival to the PS3's Blu-ray standard, is expected this month for an additional $200.

The new consoles come at a critical time for the video game business, which has grown in fits and starts from the simple days of "Pong" in the 1970s to an entertainment industry worth roughly $10 billion in the United States. That exceeds the $9 billion Hollywood grossed last year on domestic ticket sales, according to analyst estimates and the Motion Picture Association of America.

Software companies, in particular, have reason to rejoice after languishing in a sales vacuum created by shoppers who stopped buying games for older systems in anticipation of the new consoles.

Now analysts are predicting solid growth, with Colin Sebastian of Lazard Capital Markets expecting the games business to expand at a healthy 15 to 20 percent for at least the next two years.

Sony dominated the previous generation with 70 percent of the global market, including 35 million PlayStation 2 consoles in the United States. The original Xbox was second with nearly 15 million sold, followed by 11 million Nintendo GameCubes.

In the newest round, Sebastian predicts Sony will grab about half of the market, with Microsoft and Nintendo splitting the difference. That would mean Sony loses share, while Nintendo makes some gains.

All three devices will succeed in the short term because of pent-up demand and the lack of supply, said David Cole, president of market research firm DFC Intelligence.

"We'll have to wait, I think until holiday 2007 and even into 2008, before we start making really definitive judgments about what consumers are saying about these systems," Cole said.

Well, hope this has the blood pumping in the veins of all you gamers out there. Maybe Saint Nick will roll up on your place with one of these systems. Keep your fingers crossed!

Democrats Election Day Victories

Congratulations to the Democratic Party on their victories on election day. Maybe this will be a move in the right direction to regain the White House in 2 years and fix some of the "garbage" that has been created by the Republicans. DON'T SCREW IT UP DEMOCRATS!

One thing about this election that has made me think there just might be a little hope people, is the fact that obviously, some of you finally saw the light. On the other hand, there are still far too many "Stupid people" out there that have NO CLUE!

One question I have in closing, "why did you idiots in states that had a marijuana amendment on the ballot, vote it down"? I guess we still have a way to go to catch up with the rest of the civilized, progressive world.

Got a comment, leave it here. Or, email me at reggae8@aol.com.

Election Day '06, Who Cares

For all of my "out of country" friends and acquaintences, today is election day in the good old USA. As they call it, "midterm elections". Congressmen, senators, governors, and that sort of thing. Although most of YOU(outsiders)that is, don't really have a vested interest in this election, I know there are enough of you that do have a passing interest because of your dislike for American politics over the last several years.

However, this article, and my personal thoughts, is not so much about our election, but, elections in general. Though alot of this speaks to US elections and politics.

ELECTIONS ARE PRETTY MUCH A FARCE! As I have heard a number of times from some pretty well healed and intelligent people, "it doesn't matter who wins, we, the populace, still get the short end of the stick". Not too mention the fact that "no matter what politician X promises, the percentage of his/her promises that are fulfilled is miniscule at best". Why is this? How about the fact that NO ONE POLITICIAN has the final say on anything! In essence, individual politicos are basically "powerless". Including the president!

Another reason elections are a "joke", is, "because most people, especially in this country, vote along party lines and have NO CLUE what their candidate stands for or their platform. Hell, sometime they don't even know the candidates name until election day. So, what's the point? It's all bogus.

Okay, so what's the solution? Well, you can just sit it out. As I am sure a few people will. Or, you can do what I do. I don't particularly care what party the person belongs to. I don't really care what their platform is. The only thing that matters is, DO I LIKE THIS PERSON WELL ENOUGH TO WANT TO BE FRIENDS? If yes, then that is who I vote for. Such as Bill Clinton, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer or Bill Nelson. If I would not want you on my friends list on myspace, then I could care less about your party or your platform. Hey, it's just that simple.

Am I going to vote on November 7, 2006? Probably, because there are a couple people I personally like.

One last thought before I close this. It does kind of have a place for election day. The thought is, "there is NO SATAN, there are just a bunch of "stupid people" making bad, unintelligent, miss informed decisions with their own GOD given "free will". As I am sure a bunch of you did, or, will do, on this election day!

Sony Playstation 3 Killer Reviews

Gamers Give PlayStation 3 Rave Reviews

HONOLULU (AP) - Crammed in the corner of a hotel's banquet hall, they stood and stared silently, mesmerized by what they were seeing. They were watching a soldier gunning down a giant monster on one TV and Miami Heat's Dwayne Wade taking over an NBA game on the other screen.

What they were really experiencing was the new Sony PlayStation 3.

The much-awaited video game console comes out Nov. 17 in the U.S., although getting one will be as challenging as finding parking at the mall after Thanksgiving.

Thousands of lucky gamers tested the PS3 over the weekend at the 2007 Sony Expo in Honolulu, two weeks before the debut.

Almost all were males - from boys with braces and baggy jeans to gray-haired baby boomers. They crowded around two gaming booths with the sleek, lean, black machine behind a plastic case.

"The graphics are crazy, way better than the second one," said Doug Morrison, a 20-year-old University of Hawaii student. "It's more realistic. It's smoother. It doesn't have any glitches.
"I'm going to get one no matter what."

Forget Elmo, the third-generation PlayStation will top many wish lists to Santa this holiday season. And hopefully Santa saved because the PS3 isn't cheap.

The system starts at $500 for a 20 GB version. The price tag on the 60 GB model is $600.
People looking to cash in on the high demand and limited supply are already selling their pre-reserved PS3 consoles on eBay for well over $2,000. Rights to one PS3 recently sold for $3,250, plus $50 for shipping. It received 48 bids.

Some stores began taking pre-orders on Oct. 10. At some GameStop and EB Game locations, the orders were snapped up within minutes.

Kazuo Hirai, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment America, said about 400,000 units will be available in the U.S. in the initial launch and an additional 600,000 by the end of this year.

Sony hopes to have a total of 2 million consoles in the U.S. market by the end of company's fiscal year, which ends in March.

"Unfortunately, there are going to be some shortages," Hirai said in an interview. "I ask for everybody's patience. We are pedal to the metal in terms of trying to get as many units as possible into both the Japanese and American market."

Hirai said he doesn't even have a PS3 at home yet, even though his 12-year-old son has been begging for one.

"He talks a good game about PlayStation 3 when he's at school, but he hasn't touched one and he hasn't seen one," Hirai said. "That's only fair for everybody."

With his back turned to Sony's new $7,000 TV, Robert McDuffie and his buddies were glued to a much smaller screen, watching someone play the first-person shooting game "Resistance: Fall of Man."

The 25-year-old Army sergeant from Daytona Beach, Fla. said he didn't attend the expo to check out Sony's new line of high-definition TVs, tiny digital cameras or ultrathin laptops.
"I came for the PS3," he said, anxiously waiting for a moment with the machine.

After playing for a few minutes, McDuffie said he was impressed.

"I'm just trying to figure out how to get one," he said. "I didn't pre-order, so I'm going to have to stand in line overnight."

The PS3 is driven by a high-powered cell processor, making game play super smooth and graphics amazingly detailed. A gigabit ethernet for online gaming and a Blu-ray disc player comes standard on the console, as does a wireless controller.

The PS3 can play games and movies at "1080p," which is the highest definition resolution currently available.

But Sony has already experienced problems in developing the PS3. Sony reported a $366 million operating loss in its gaming division in the third quarter because of development charges. The launch in Europe was delayed until March 2007 because of mass production problems in the Blu-ray drive.

Tim Mah, 13, of Honolulu had one word for the new machine: "Wow."

Dyron Mack, a 35-year-old computer analyst, said he plans to buy a PS3 without consulting his wife or disclosing the cost.

"I'm not going to tell her. You just show up with it and let her be mad," he said. "You just say, 'I'm sorry. I lost the receipt.'"

Hey, I'm pumped! However, I did not pre-order, sooooo, I will probably not get one until spring. That's okay though, because by then, whatever "bugs" may exist, will be cleared up and I should be able to get a problem free unit by then. Can't wait!

No More Fish? Possibly Within 50 Years

'Only 50 years left' for sea fish
By Richard Black Environment correspondent, BBC News website

There will be virtually nothing left to fish from the seas by the middle of the century if current trends continue, according to a major scientific study.

Stocks have collapsed in nearly one-third of sea fisheries, and the rate of decline is accelerating.

Writing in the journal Science, the international team of researchers says fishery decline is closely tied to a broader loss of marine biodiversity.

But a greater use of protected areas could safeguard existing stocks.

"The way we use the oceans is that we hope and assume there will always be another species to exploit after we've completely gone through the last one," said research leader Boris Worm, from Dalhousie University in Canada.

"What we're highlighting is there is a finite number of stocks; we have gone through one-third, and we are going to get through the rest," he told the BBC News website.

Steve Palumbi, from Stanford University in California, one of the other scientists on the project, added: "Unless we fundamentally change the way we manage all the ocean species together, as working ecosystems, then this century is the last century of wild seafood."

For the rest of this eye opening story, go to BBC NEWS Science/Nature 'Only 50 years left' for sea fish .

See, it just goes to show what I have been professing for along time. Man, with his infinite God given wisdom, will let his "inate stupidity" and "egocentric personality" screw this whole worldly deal up. Give me a break! What is so freaking hard to figure that you cannot keep taking, without ever replacing and replenishing? What, is man so arrogant and stupid that he thinks, "don't worry, they'll come back, God will replace them".

Listen, I happen to LOVE seafood. When the day arrives that I cannot get a good seafood meal, that is when the proverbial "sh-t hits the fan"! Do yourself a favor, "read the rest of this story" and let's all make sure that this day NEVER comes!
