Don Imus Firing

I have no idea where to start this posting. There are so many things going through my head, it feels like it will explode.

The main reasons I am doing this are: (1) I can! (2) I ALWAYS have an opinion! (3) Because many of my regular readers wanted to know where I weighed in on this subject. (4) Even though I have turned to and focused on my "spiritualism" and positive energy, sometimes you just have to get off and let it fly!

If you referred to the girls Asian volleyball team as "slant eyed ho's", is that racist? Sexist, maybe, racist, NO! Most Asians do have slanted eyes! If you referred to the Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic womens gymnastic teams as "blond blue eyed ho's", is that racist? Sexist maybe, racist, NO! If you referred to a Latino girls softball team as "beans and rice eating ho's", is that racist? Sexist maybe, racist NO!

The operative statement being made in the paragraph above is, "you are what you are"! Like it or not, a significant number of blacks DO have nappy hair! Most Asians do have slanted eyes as stated above! Most Swedish, Norwegian folks have blue eyes and blond hair! And, last but not least, most Latinos, consume beans and rice as part of their regular diet! Therefore, "you are what you are" and should not take offense when someone points it out! Hey, that's life. Play the hand you were dealt and deal with it. Stop the whining!

But, not black folks in this country. Every time someone other than a black person says something that is "percieved" to be anti black and racist, the poor black folk want to get their panties in a wad. Especially, Black America's want to be leaders, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Anything to get their names in the spotlight! Especially since they BOTH are has beens and yesterdays news! Mr. Obama is todays black voice, and, the other two can't stand it for a minute. Once again, "that's life". You both had your chances and failed miserably. Please, GO AWAY!

Black folks, "wake up and smell the roses". If you can sit around and let other black folk say the same thing and worse under the guise of being a "rapper" or "comedian", yet down anyone else other than black folks saying these things, "then YOU are mentally short sighted and the problem, NOT the victim"!

As far as Don Imus goes, he is an idiot! Not so much for what he said, but, the fact that he did not have enough sense to realize what an uproar this would cause. According to a national poll of well over 20,000 people, Imus should NOT have been

fired! By a margin of 60%! Reprimanded, YES! Myself, I would have fined and suspended him and various other forms of reprimands. Fired, NO!

And as for all you so called "advertisers" that pulled your support of his shows, you will PAY. The majority in this country still support "free speech". Since YOU don't, see how it feels to be boycotted for your "lack of stones". Yes, I will publish a list of all the sponsors who pulled their ads from Imus's show.

Only in America. That's why I said on previous postings about the "indigo children" and the "crystal children", "thank God they are here and will be our future, because all these "pale yellows and yellows we have running around now, are really screwing things up for mankind"!

Dragons: Pt 2 Of Series

This is part 2 of my series on dragons. Hope you are enjoying the stuff here and learning something. Don't forget, take the poll on the right side of this page as you scroll down. It wont bite! As usual, please click on some of my advertisers, you might see something you like!

Symbolism

In medieval symbolism, dragons were often symbolic of apostasy and treachery, but also of anger and envy, and eventually symbolized great calamity. Several heads were symbolic of decadence and oppression, and also of heresy. They also served as symbols for independence, leadership and strength. Many dragons also represent wisdom; slaying a dragon not only gave access to its treasure hoard, but meant the hero had bested the most cunning of all creatures. In some cultures, especially Chinese, or around the Himalayas, dragons are considered to represent good luck.

Joseph Campbell in the The Power of Myth viewed the dragon as a symbol of divinity or transcendence because it represents the unity of Heaven and Earth by combining the serpent form (earthbound) with the bat/bird form (airborne).

Dragons embody both male and female traits, as in the example from Aboriginal myth that raises baby humans to adulthood, training them for survival in the world.[2] Another striking illustration of the way dragons are portrayed is their ability to breathe fire but live in the ocean. Dragons represent the joining of the opposing forces of the cosmos.

Yet another symbolic view of dragons is the Ouroborus, or the dragon encircling and eating its own tail. When shaped like this the dragon becomes a symbol of eternity, natural cycles, and completion.

In Christianity

The Latin word for a dragon, draco (genitive: draconis), actually means snake or serpent, emphasizing the European association of dragons with snakes, not lizards or dinosaurs as they are commonly associated with today. The Medieval Biblical interpretation of the Devil being associated with the serpent who tempted Adam and Eve, thus gave a snake-like dragon connotations of evil. Generally speaking, Biblical literature itself did not portray this association (save for the Book of Revelation, whose treatment of dragons is detailed below). The demonic opponents of God, Christ, or good Christians have commonly been portrayed as reptilian or chimeric.

In the Book of Job Chapter 41, there are references to a sea monster Leviathan, which has some dragon-like characteristics.

In Revelation 12:3, an enormous red beast with seven heads is described, whose tail sweeps one third of the stars from heaven down to earth (held to be symbolic of the fall of the angels, though not commonly held among biblical scholars). In most translations, the word "dragon" is used to describe the beast, since in the original Greek the word used is drakon (δράκον).

In iconography, some Catholic saints are depicted in the act of killing a dragon. This is one of the common aspects of Saint George in Egyptian Coptic iconography,[3] on the coat of arms of Moscow, and in English and Catalan legend. In Italy, Saint Mercurialis, first bishop of the city of Forlì, is also depicted slaying a dragon.[4] Saint Julian of Le Mans, Saint Veran, Saint Crescentinus, Saint Margaret of Antioch, Saint Martha, and Saint Leonard of Noblac were also venerated as dragon-slayers.

However, some say that dragons were good, before they fell from grace, as humans did from the Garden of Eden after Adam and Eve's Original Sin was committed. Also contributing to the good dragon argument in Christianity is the fact that, if they did exist, they were created as were any other creature, as seen in Dragons In Our Midst, a contemporary Christian book series by author Bryan Davis.

Chinese zodiac

The years 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024, 2036, 2048, 2060 etc. (every 12 years — 8 AD) are considered the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac.

The Chinese zodiac purports that people born in the Year of the Dragon are healthy, energetic, excitable, short-tempered, and stubborn. They are also supposedly honest, sensitive, brave, and inspire confidence and trust. The Chinese zodiac purports that people whose zodiac sign is the dragon are the most eccentric of any in the eastern zodiac. They supposedly neither borrow money nor make flowery speeches, but tend to be soft-hearted which sometimes gives others an advantage over them. They are purported to be compatible with people whose zodiac sign is of the rat, snake, monkey, and rooster.


In East Asia

Dragons are commonly symbols of good luck or health in some parts of Asia, and are also sometimes worshipped. Asian dragons are considered as mythical rulers of weather, specifically rain and water, and are usually depicted as the guardians of pearls.

In China, as well as in Japan and Korea, the Azure Dragon is one of the Four Symbols of the Chinese constellation, representing spring, the element of Wood and the east. Chinese dragons are often shown with large pearls in their grasp, though some say that it is really the dragon's egg. The Chinese believed that the dragons lived underwater most of the time, and would sometimes offer rice as a gift to the dragons. The dragons were not shown with wings like the European dragons because it was believed they could fly using magic.

A Yellow dragon (Huang long) with five claws on each foot, on the other hand, represents the change of seasons, the element of Earth (the Chinese 'fifth element') and the center. Furthermore, it symbolizes imperial authority in China, and indirectly the Chinese people as well. Chinese people often use the term "Descendants of the Dragon" as a sign of ethnic identity. The dragon is also the symbol of royalty in Bhutan (whose sovereign is known as Druk Gyalpo, or Dragon King).


A naga guarding the Temple of Wat Sisaket in Viang Chan, LaosIn Vietnam, the dragon (Vietnamese: rồng) is the most important and sacred symbol. According to the ancient creation myth of the Kinh people, all Vietnamese people are descended from dragons through Lạc Long Quân, who married Âu Cơ, a fairy. The eldest of their 100 sons founded the first dynasty of Hùng Vương Emperors.

The Nāga - a minor deity taking the form of a serpent - is common within both the Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Technically, the naga is not a dragon, though it is often taken as such; the term is ambiguous, and refers both to a tribe of people known as 'Nāgas', as well as to elephants and ordinary snakes. Within a mythological context, it refers to a deity assuming the form of a serpent with either one or many heads.

Occasionally the Buddha is depicted as sitting upon the coils of a serpent, with a fan of several serpent heads extending over his body. This is in reference to Mucalinda, a Nāga that protected Śākyamuni Buddha from the elements during the time of his enlightenment. Separated from the contextualising effect of the Buddha story, people may see only the head and thus infer that Mucalinda is a dragon, rather than a deity in serpentine form. Stairway railings on Buddhist temples will occasionally be worked to resemble the body of a Nāga with the head at the base of the railing. In Thailand, the head of Nāga, in a more impressionistic form, can be seen at the corners of temple roofs, with Nāga’s body forming the ornamentation on roofline eves up to the gables.

Since I am in the process of finishing my book/story "Dragon", and, posting up some excerps from the book, I thought it would be pretty cool to run a series on dragons. Trying to touch on as much informative stuff as I can find or come across.

Many people have varying thoughts on dragons. Whether they, in fact, existed, or, were just mythology. As I always say, "all I am doing is providing you with food for thought so that you can opyn your mindz and call your own shot". As a very good friend and teacher told me, "the dragons are here, we just can't see them right now". Enjoy this series.

"The dragon is a mythical creature typically depicted as a large and powerful serpent or other reptile with magical or spiritual qualities. Mythological creatures possessing some or most of the characteristics typically associated with dragons are common throughout the world's cultures."

Overview

Dragons are commonly portrayed as serpentine or reptilian, hatching from eggs and possessing extremely large, typically scaly, bodies; they are sometimes portrayed as having large eyes, a feature that is the origin for the word for dragon in many cultures, and are often (but not always) portrayed with wings and a fiery breath. Some dragons do not have wings at all, but look more like long snakes. Dragons can have a variable number of legs: none, two, four, or more when it comes to early European literature. Modern depictions of dragons are very large in size, but some early European depictions of dragons were only the size of bears, or, in some cases, even smaller, around the size of a butterfly.

Although dragons (or dragon-like creatures) occur commonly in legends around the world, different cultures have perceived them differently. Chinese dragons (Simplified Chinese: 龙; Traditional Chinese: 龍; pinyin: lóng), and Eastern dragons generally, are usually seen as benevolent, whereas European dragons are usually malevolent (there are of course exceptions to these rules). Malevolent dragons also occur in Persian mythology (see Azhi Dahaka) and other cultures.

Dragons are particularly popular in China. Along with the phoenix, the dragon was a symbol of the Chinese emperors. Dragon costumes manipulated by several people are a common sight at Chinese festivals.

Dragons are often held to have major spiritual significance in various religions and cultures around the world. In many Eastern and Native American cultures dragons were, and in some cultures still are, revered as representative of the primal forces of nature and the universe. They are associated with wisdom—often said to be wiser than humans—and longevity. They are commonly said to possess some form of magic or other supernormal power, and are often associated with wells, rain, and rivers. In some cultures, they are said to be capable of human speech. They are also said to be able to talk to all animals and converse with humans.

Dragons are very popular characters in fantasy literature, role-playing games and video games today.

The term dragoon, for infantry that move around by horse yet still fight as foot soldiers, is derived from their early firearm, the "dragon", a wide-bore musket that spat flame when it fired, and was thus named for the mythical creature.

'Wolf Man' Lives With Pack in the Wild
He Even Pretends to Eat From Animal Carcasses

(April 6) - When Shaun Ellis came upon three abandoned wolf pups, he decided to raise them to be wild in a most unconventional way -- by pretending to be a wolf himself.

Ellis has spent his entire life studying the behavior of wolves and their interaction with humans. The National Geographic Channel followed Ellis' fascinating pursuit, producing a documentary called "A Man Among Wolves" that airs April 16.

First becoming interested in wolves as a child, Ellis says he decided to live among a wolf pack to help bridge the gap between wolves and humans. Ellis readily admits that many people will find it crazy that he lives and behaves like a wolf, but he thinks the ultimate benefits of his experiment make his case.

In the documentary, Ellis describes how he eats and lives with the wolves. His food is placed in a plastic bag inside an animal carcass that the rest of the wolves eat from.

In some ways, Ellis almost stopped being human. He talked about putting his emotions on hold while he was with the animals, because wolves do not feel emotions. When he leaves the pack, he finds it difficult to interact with other human beings. He is a "true wolf man. You can't get closer to wolves than he has," the documentary's producer, Bernard Walton, said of Ellis.

Ellis warns those watching though that "it's very dangerous for people who haven't been trained, who think that they can just walk into a wolf pack and be accepted."

The documentary includes the opinions of experts -- such as Chris Darimont, a wolf biologist with the Raincoast Conservation Society's wolf project and an instructor at the University of Victoria in British Columbia -- who are both intrigued by and skeptical of Ellis' unorthodox methods.

"I find it difficult to resolve that as humans we can teach wolves something," Darimont says. "I think the best teachers for wolves are their parents and older siblings in their natural social environment."

He concedes, however, that "lots of progress that has been made in science over the last century and more comes from the mavericks, or people that think a little differently.

Biologist Doug Smith, leader of the Yellowstone Gray Wolf Project, said, "When you eat and sleep and interact with wolves -- that's something we can't replicate here, we won't do, we can't do."

Walton described the difficulties in filming, such as the camera crew having to wear protective gear and the use of a small camouflage tent to hide the camera. The wolves, he says, became jittery around strangers, so Ellis was in a unique position of being comfortable with the wolves.

According to Walton, Ellis truly sees "the world through the eyes of a wolf," offering a point of view that scientists so far have not been able to access.

Needless to say, you know where I will be April 16th! Watching the National Geographic Channel! As much as I love wolves, and feel a bond with them, I don't know if I could do what Mr. Ellis has done. I do support him 1000%!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 Video Game

Review: 'Tiger Woods' Game Par for Wii

"Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07" is the closest thing to actual golf available on the Nintendo Wii. For indoor putters who've had enough of the rather simple golf game that comes with the console, this new E-rated, $49.99 title is a huge step forward for virtual golfers.

I'm not much of a golfer in real life. Never have been, never will be (other than a visit to the local putt-putt now and then).

But I have played plenty of video-game golf over the years, from my first swing at "Links" for the PC in the early 1990s to those Golden Tee Golf machines you see in bars all over the place.

The Wii, of course, is the first console with a wireless motion-sensitive remote. This gives it an inherent advantage over other game systems, where golfing skill is generally dependent on your ability to click a mouse button or push a track ball at just the right time.

The Wii makes for a much more realistic experience - and a much greater, often frustrating, challenge.

As with the real thing, striking a balance between power and accuracy is the trick. Patience will be required, too, as I spent days developing a consistent, straight shot that didn't sail out of bounds or into a pond.

A big windup was generally a bad idea because it led to overpowered hooks and slices. Plus, any companions in my living room would be ducking for cover to avoid my swinging arms.

Instead, I found that a quick flick of the wrist gave me the best results. Best of all, I could sit down and still play - a couch-potato athlete's dream.

Putting, however, gave me problems no matter how much I practiced. Despite a convenient grid that shows the slope and elevation of the green, I found it way too easy to accidentally move my putter and nudge the ball off track. I had more triple bogeys that I could count because of this.

Tiger and a few dozen other professional golfers are available to play, but you can also create your own custom duffer.

The Wii version's emphasis on controls seems to have come at the expense of the graphics. The visuals here were bad, with some of the on-screen text so blurry that I could barely read it on my high-definition television. The courses, too, generally lacked any visual punch, with bland colors and sparse scenery.

The sounds effects - the drone of passing jetliners, chirping birds, hooting spectators (I even heard a flushing toilet at one point) - do help make for a realistic outdoor setting.

It's not a hole in one, but "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07" is a solid debut for the franchise on the Wii. Golfing gurus now definitely have something to do on a rainy day. With some patience and practice, the rest of us just might have a good time, too.

Two-and-a-half stars out of four.

I have not seen or played this game yet. However, if it is this realistic, it beats walking around 18 holes here in Florida when it is 90 degrees. Besides, you pay the $49.99 once, and then there are NO greens fees etc. Sounds like a bargain to me!

NY Mets Baseball

Okay, so today was April 1, 2007, April Fools Day. Forget that! Today was the Opening Day of the 2007 Major League Baseball Season. And yes, my team, the New York Mets, played the opening game against the MLB Champion St. Louis Cardinals.

The Mets won the opener 6-1 behind Tom Glavine who won his 291st game!

It's nice to have MLB back. I look forward to a good season with the Mets and all of baseball. Even plan on catching a game or two live here in Florida. Maybe the Devil Rays at Disney. I do NOT look forward to Barroid Bonds breaking Hank Aarons homerun record!

Dodge Nitro & Discovery's "Planet Earth"

This is kind of a weird blog posting, but, I figured I would give everyone a heads up on a couple of cool things I checked out over the last few days.

If you are in the market for a new set of wheels, and, thinking about an suv, you might want to check out the new Dodge Nitro. My family picked up one this past weekend and it is SWEET. It rides great, has good power, turns on a dime, plenty of cool options you can add, AND, looks like nothing else. Oh, and everybody and their mama does not have one yet! They are also priced right! Typically, in the 20 to $30,200 range.

The other thing I wanted to tell you about, in case you missed the promos etc, is Discovery Channels "Planet Earth" series. From what I understand, there are 11 hours/episodes in the series. The series itself took 5 years to film and some of the footage has NEVER been seen or filmed before. It is all about OUR planet. EVERYTHING on it! Including unbelievable footage of some of the coolest most intelligent animals, birds and fish ever to live. They are running two new hours every Sunday night for the next couple of weeks in April 2007. They start at 8pm Eastern time. Luther Ingram R&B Legend Dies

R&B Singer Luther Ingram Dies at 69

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Luther Ingram, the R&B singer and songwriter best known for the hit "If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want to Be Right)," has died. He was 69.

Ingram died Monday at a Belleville, Ill., hospital of heart failure, friend and journalist Bernie Hayes said Tuesday. He had suffered for years from diabetes, kidney disease and partial blindness, his wife, Jacqui Ingram, said.

Ingram performed with Ike Turner at clubs in East St. Louis, roomed with Jimi Hendrix in New York and was the opening act for Isaac Hayes. He recorded through the 1980s and performed in concert until the mid-1990s, when his health began declining.

"His instrument was his voice; his heart and head were his inspiration," said Hayes, a St. Louis journalist, disc jockey and author of "The Death of Black Radio."

Ingram was born Nov. 30, 1937, in Jackson, Tenn. He started writing music and singing as a boy in a group with his siblings after his family moved to Alton, Ill., in 1947.

He had a five-year association with Memphis, Tenn.-based Stax Records during the height of its success. In 1971, Ingram and songwriter-performer Sir Mack Rice co-wrote "Respect Yourself" for the Staple Singers, which turned into Stax's biggest hit.

Ingram recorded "If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want to Be Right)," in 1972 on Koko Records, which Stax distributed. The song was No. 1 on Billboard magazine's R&B chart and was later a hit for Barbara Mandrell.

His other popular songs include "Ain't That Loving You (For More Reasons Than One),""I'll Be Your Shelter" and "You Never Miss Your Water."

"He was a soft-spoken, quiet person that I think relished peace," said Deanie Parker, who spent her career at Stax and Soulsville. "He was a very intense singer; he took it very seriously. When he was rehearsing, he'd go over it and over it and seek perfection."

A "musical visitation" will be held Sunday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in East St. Louis. He is to be buried Monday at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Belleville.

Sorry to see you cross over Luther. Your music will continue the memory for a bunch of folks for a long time. Thank you so much. "If Loving You Is Wrong" is one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

Wolves-Off Endangered Species List?

Wolf Population Now Tops 1,300 Animals

As most of you probably know by now, the ones that read this blog on a regular basis, wolves are very close to my heart. I consider them my spirit and totem animal. I have always had a fondness for wolves since I was a little kid. I can relate to everything about the wolf. Sometimes, I feel as though I was descended from them. Either them or Godzilla one. lol Maybe that is why almost all my dogs have favored wolves. As our current dog and buddy Akua does. Nonetheless, reality is reality.

When I first moved to Florida back in the 70's, alligators were on the endangered/protected list. They all but got wiped out by mankind and their greed. But, since being protected, gators have come back bigtime. Now, there are too many gators and they have extended the hunting parameters for them to "thin the herd". As the article below states, eventually, there will not be enough game to feed the wolf population if they keep increasing at their current rate. That, leads to problems for them, humans and farm and domestic animals. This is not an acceptable solution either.

As much as I hate to see it or, say it, something does have to be done to keep their population in check. For everyones benefit! If not, mankind will just start indiscriminately slaughtering these marvelous animals again. THAT, cannot be tolerated! Let's find a solution we all can live with!

BILLINGS, Mont. (March 20) - The number of wolves in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming continues to grow, with at least 1,300 in the three states at the end of 2006, federal officials say.

"I keep thinking we're at the top end of the bubble," said Ed Bangs, wolf recovery coordinator for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. "I can't see that there's room for any more, but we'll see."

The wolf population has, on average, grown by about 26 percent a year for the past decade. The reports of livestock being killed by wolves have also increased, as has the number of wolves killed after livestock attacks.

There are at least 316 wolves in Montana, 311 in Wyoming and 673 in Idaho, according to the 2006 federal report.

Bangs said the wolf population will eventually level off, and will likely decrease once state agencies take over management of the predators and are able to control the population through hunting.

The fastest-growing area for wolves last year was in Wyoming outside Yellowstone National Park, where the number of wolves jumped 31 percent, from 134 in 2005 to 175 in 2006.

With that increase, 123 cows were reportedly killed by wolves, more than has ever been recorded in Wyoming since the reintroduction. In response, a record 44 wolves were killed.

In Montana, the number of wolves grew by 19 percent, nearly all of that in the northwestern part of the state, said Carolyn Sime, leader of the wolf program for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

Montana reported 14 new wolf packs last year, including several established by young males that left other packs in the state.

Overall, at least 32 cows and four sheep were killed by wolves, according to the annual report, and 53 wolves were removed.

Human activities, both legal and illegal, are the leading cause of death for wolves in Montana.

In Yellowstone, the wolf population grew by about 15 percent last year from 118 to 136. That growth comes after a decline in 2005 attributed to a canine disease that wiped out scores of pups.

Yellowstone wolves killed in 2006 were most likely killed by other wolves. Social strife, especially on the densely populated Northern Range, and competition for prey meant more territorial skirmishes that can be deadly.

The number of elk, which are wolves' primary winter prey, has declined 50 percent in the area since 1995. A decreasing prey base and increasing wolf density is likely to mean a decline in wolf numbers over the next several years, biologists said.

The Fish and Wildlife Service said the wolf population has, for seven years, met basic recovery goals of 30 breeding pairs distributed across the three states and the agency has recommended removing wolves from protection under the Endangered Species Act.

However, the federal government and the state of Wyoming haven't reached an agreement on a management plan.

The latest proposal is to delist wolves in Montana, Idaho and all of Wyoming except for the northwest corner, where they would still be managed by the federal government.

High-Tech Slots Could Transform Gambling

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. (AP) - Engineers at PureDepth Inc. spent years developing tools for helping the military plot 3-D maps of war zones, eventually licensing top-secret technology to the U.S. Air Force and Navy.

But the Silicon Valley startup hit the jackpot in October when it inked a deal with International Game Technology Inc., the world's largest maker of slot machines.

Industry experts say a realistic digital video display is the final hurdle that will completely digitize one-armed bandits. The new displays by PureDepth and others - set to debut later this year - could profoundly change the $85 billion U.S. gambling industry and how it's regulated.

When high-tech slots are in place, programmers will be able to control nearly every aspect of the game - cost, payout, even the images that line up on the payline. Casino operators will be able to make changes in real time through back-end servers that talk to computer chips inside the slot machines.

"This is the last piece of the puzzle," financial analyst Aimee Marcel Remey, who follows the gaming industry for Jefferies & Co. "These new systems are so different from the slots out there now. You feel like it's an exact science, every time you pull."

If the Beach Boys are playing the Luxor in Las Vegas, next-generation slots could display images of band members instead of cherries, numbers or other symbols. If band members' faces line up, an embedded printer could spit out front-row tickets.

Or suppose the penny slots area at a tribal casino empties out around 7 p.m., when big spenders arrive. With a few keystrokes, programmers could change the minimum bet to $1 and offer a progressive jackpot with all slots in the house - or even with thousands of machines statewide.

"If the NASCAR folks are coming to Vegas, they could change the fruits to cars," said Fred Angelopoulos, CEO of Redwood Shores-based PureDepth, founded in 1999. "You can start thinking outside the box, literally."

Without digital displays and servers, employees would have to manually close out meters, change glass, change reel strips and physically relocate and remove machines.

Digital slots, however, are vulnerable to the same bugs and malfunctions that plague personal computers. Regulators say they'll be seductive targets for hackers, who have been trying to rig games for decades.

In 2000, a programmer in Edmonton, Canada, found a software glitch that let him regularly win $500 or more on some video poker machines. The maker of the machines - WMS Industries Inc. (WMS) - estimated the incident cost at least $1 million and sued the man, who threatened to publish the flaw online.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board, which sets the pace for regulators nationwide, adopted new rules last year for digital machines. The board must approve all software modifications - even pictures on reels. The approval process takes up to 30 days.

The board employs 11 experts in computer science, electronic security and wireless networking. It will double the number of these specialists by late 2007 and build a new research facility to deal with an expected profusion of digital slot machines, said Mark Clayton, who heads the board's technology division.

Executives at the top three manufacturers acknowledge that networked slot machines are a seductive target for hackers and are reluctant to call them hack-proof for fear of inviting challenges from would-be invaders. Instead, they're working with regulators to reduce the potential damage if such an attack occurred.

Roughly half the 835,000 slot machines nationwide have video displays and many are networked, but industry officials acknowledge that most are flops, lacking the visceral "clunk-clunk-clunk" of wheels hitting the payline.

Video slots with an authentic feel are the holy grail for manufacturers.

PureDepth searched for a mechanical alternative to the traditional optical tricks for fooling the eyes and brain into seeing depth. Such tricks - fancy versions of 3-D glasses - induced nausea and headaches and were rejected by casino operators, who stuck with mechanical reels or flat video displays with no depth.

With the cost of liquid crystal displays dropping, engineers at PureDepth's lab in New Zealand decided to house two or more LCDs in one physical unit to create depth - a deceptively simple idea protected with 45 patents and roughly 70 patents pending.

Reno, Nev.-based IGT is hoping to debut the first machines with PureDepth's multilayer video display in November at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. The company won't say how much they'll cost, but they'll be more than mechanical reel machines, which cost up to $15,000.

A different approach on a 3-D video slot system will debut next month, when Waukegan, Ill.-based WMS is expected to introduce a "Monopoly Super Money Grab" slot machine. Its hybrid display features a mechanical reel behind a video display that activates when the payline hits certain combinations.

Traditional three- and five-reel slots have a finite number of combinations, but adding a video layer allows programmers to exponentially expand the possibilities.

"The mathematics drive the game, and the more mathematics you can derive, the more combinations you can create," said Larry Pacey, senior vice president of product development at WMS, which developed the patented technology with Tokyo-based Pachinko powerhouse Aruze Corp.

One thing that's unlikely to change in the new era of digital slots: the slim odds of winning big.

"Let's be honest: Everything about a casino design is meant to play on the player's psychology," said Jeffrey Allen, director of business development for Las Vegas-based Bally Technologies Inc. (BYI), another top slot machine maker. "Why else would there be no clocks and comfortable chairs and subdued lights?"

Ed Rogich, an IGT vice president, said players who tested video display prototypes earlier this year could hardly tell the difference between them and manual reels. That's a good sign: Many old-school gamblers prefer low-tech slots.

Earlier this month at Cache Creek Casino in Brooks, Margaret Spence criticized the present version of video slots and wistfully recalled the days of old-fashioned reels.
"I still miss pulling that old lever, and I miss that big tub of money that would fill up with coins when you hit the jackpot," said Spence, 71, a Concord resident who currently favors $1 "Blazing 7s" machines. "The video machines seem like a waste of time - like a video game."

Okay slot machine players, it is time to take them to the next level. This should do it. One thing will remain in place however, "the odds of winning big are still against you". However, as long as you are having a good time and enjoying yourself without being financially irresponsible, who cares about the odds. Have fun!

The Crystal Children- Pt 2

This is the 2nd of two parts on the Crystal Children as promised. Enjoy!

Attributes of the Crystal Children

* Extremely sensitive to everything in their environment -sound, colors, negative emotions in others, smells, food, chemicals, pollutants, the "feel" of clothing, violence, and pain of others, group consciousness, electromagnetic frequencies, solar flares.

* So sensitive that they are deeply vulnerable, as well as very powerful because of their intense vulnerability.

* They must have alone time. They do not live well in groups as few others understand their need for solitude, balance, rejuvenation, and deep quiet.

* They must have daily communion with nature and elements. The Spirit of Nature will help them balance and clear all of the disharmonious energies that affect them so strongly.

* They just plain do not understand "Man's inhumanity to Man," war, greed, etc., and thus can easily feel totally overwhelmed by it all.

* If life should become too intense, or if they are traumatized or see and feel others being traumatized they will withdraw and disconnect from society in order to protect themselves.

* Despite being quiet and self-effacing, others admire and are drawn to them like a magnet. They will have deep and lasting connections with humans who offer the unconditional love that the Crystal knows is the only true Love.

* When a Crystal looks at you, you feel as if they have penetrated your very soul.

* They really need very little traditional parenting as they are gentle, wise, and will be able to tell you what they need, as well as what is good or not good for them. When my son was very young, he said one day, "I can never drink alcohol or take any drugs at all!" And he hasn't!

* They will often avoid crowds or malls, as there are too many different energies at such places for them to cope with.

* They have a deep love for children and animals, and a remarkable way of connecting with all creatures.

* Water is very beneficial in clearing and soothing them. They love baths, showers, waterfalls, fountains, playing in water and sand.

* They require comfortable clothing of their choice of natural fibers and colors.

* They require lots of pure water and often prefer fresh organic food.

* It is not uncommon for these children to 'tell' their parents their name before they are born, and engage in other direct communication.

* Miracles and magic happen around them - money appears, animals seek them out, babies smile at them, healings occur naturally and spontaneously.

* They are extremely empathic to the point of knowing what a complete stranger in the street is feeling.

* They have a fear of intimacy because they so easily feel invaded, not respected. They would rather be alone than have their "personal body space" disregarded. They may also avoid romantic relationships for fear of hurting another if the relationship ends.

* There is an innocence, a guilelessness, a purity about Crystals; this is due to the absence of ego.

* They may need help in learning to ground their energy with physical activity, nature, sports, martial arts, yoga or dance.

* They may disrupt electrical appliances, radios, TVs, computers.

* They often refrain from showing emotion for fear of its amplification and losing control. This can make them appear to be flat or passionless.

* They can feel responsible for someone dying or getting hurt or even fighting.

* They can have periods of deep depression.

* They respond well to body work, massage, and energy work by someone who is themselves balanced. Massage and cranio-sacral therapy may be crucial to keeping their bodies healthy and pain-free.

* They will often have a high metabolism and be natural vegetarians.

* They are bright, "big-picture" individuals with an instinctual understanding of the spiritual laws, and of how it all works.

* They have a clear connection to their higher self, naturally accessing their highest guidance. It is precisely because of this connection that they know the truth of spiritual Oneness.

* They are natural healers and peacemakers.

* They are multi-talented.

* They are capable of regeneration of bone and tissue. Where most of us are gradually being upgraded - ascending to the Crystal energy, it is already in their DNA.

* They may be individuals of a few words, but everyone listens when they quietly express their wisdom with humility. However, they will not give advice without being asked and will never interfere.

Keeping all this in mind, it is possible to get a good picture or feeling of what the Crystal children are like and what they are here for. If you use your intuitive abilities to tune into the energy of these children, and create Oneness with them, the result on the planet will be astounding.

Well, there you have it. Some of you are probably saying, "yeah yeah, right". That's cool. That is part of the reason why I am sure the Indigo and Crystal Children are here. Because of non believers and narrow thinkers. That would keep the Universe and all of God's creatures straddling the fence, going nowhere and basically, keeping us all from moving forward. I welcome the Indigos, Crystals and whoever is next that will advance our cause.

The Crystal Children-Pt 1

As I promised on the Indigo Children posting, this is the follow up featuring the Crystal Children. The report and information are quite lengthy so, I broke this up into a Part 1 & Part 2. Also, as I have previously stated, "all I do is present you with some food for thought". "Things that I believe in, or, at the least, hold some intrigue and make ME want to learn more". Hopefully, these things will do the same for you.

What do we know about the children of the Crystal vibration? On the one hand, we know quite a lot. On the other hand, we know nothing very concrete. Like these children, the information at this time is more etheric, subtler and less obvious. Unlike their more "in your face" brother and sister Indigos, the Crystal children have not stirred things up - yet. September 11, 2001 was a turning point, a signal, and a gateway for this next wave of children. The Crystal children's time has come!

Steve Rother and the Group call these kids The Peacemakers, while the Indigos have been called The Systems Busters. The Indigo kids were so named because of their distinctive indigo aura life color, indigo being the color of the third eye or the brow chakra. As such, they are very intuitive, mental, quick and easily bored. The Crystal children are so-called, not because of their aura color, but because of their high vibration. Perhaps it will be noted in time that Crystals are more dominant in the crown chakra, the violet color spectrum, even the white and clear aura.

When did the Crystal children begin to arrive? There have always been a few according to the Group. These few were acting as scouts, testing the waters, but humanity did not treat them very well. Like the one known as Jesus the Christ, most often these scouts were killed, but they served the purpose of planting the seeds. It has often been noted that "Crystal and Christ" are very similar words and in this respect offer a similar definition.

With the arrival of the Indigo children, we saw a dramatic increase in the number of children being diagnosed as hyperactive or with ADD by the medical community. Much has already been written of this phenomenon, so I shall leave that for the experts. However, I wondered how the Crystals would be labeled, so I began to observe. What I began to hear was the word "autistic." I am now quite convinced that we will see a dramatic increase in the number of autistic children. These are really the Crystal children who are so sensitive, so vulnerable to the world around them, that they go inward, disconnect as best they can from even humans and do their best to survive in a world where they really don't yet fit.

Back to the question of how long the Crystal children have been here: In the last four decades or so, a few more than usual began to incarnate to anchor the energy. From my observation, it was one of the hardest jobs on the planet, but somebody had to do it, so a few "Great Ones" took on the task.

How do we recognize these new children or some of the few adult Crystals who, as forerunners, anchored the necessary energies? They are not out and about raising havoc, they are quietly living in relative obscurity. I have had the pleasure and the honor, as well as the frustration, of raising one of these early Crystal pioneers who is now 28 years old. My personal experience, my intuition, and hints provided by Steve Rother and the Group are what I have used to compile a list of attributes of the children of the Crystal vibration. Please keep in mind that these attributes are not all inclusive, nor does every Crystal child necessarily exhibit every quality.

Children-Indigo, Crystal Or ADD/ADHD

As I have stated in some recent postings that I have put up, "what I present to you is merely information that I have uncovered through research or by way of conversations with other people/souls I come in contact with". "I, personally, believe and concur with some of the stuff I post. The rest of it, if it sounds feasible, I am still researching and checking out". I post these things to stimulate your mind and give you possible alternatives to stuff you think you know. It's the only way to create "OPYN MINDZ". This is the first in a series.

Indigo child

The term "Indigo Child" comes from psychic and synesthete Nancy Ann Tappe, who classified people's personalities according to the hue of their auras.

Usually each universal age is accompanied by a preponderance of people with that life color. For instance now most adults are either Blue or Violet, the two colors with the attributes most needed in this the Violet Age of transition. During the next age, the Indigo Age, Indigo colors will be the norm (Understanding Your Life Through Color 1982).

According to Tappe

The Indigo phenomenon has been recognized as one of the most exciting changes in human nature ever documented in society. The Indigo label describes the energy pattern of human behavior which exists in over 95% of the children born in the last 10 years … This phenomena is happening globally and eventually the Indigos will replace all other colors. As small children, Indigo’s are easy to recognize by their unusually large, clear eyes. Extremely bright, precocious children with an amazing memory and a strong desire to live instinctively, these children of the next millennium are sensitive, gifted souls with an evolved consciousness who have come here to help change the vibrations of our lives and create one land, one globe and one species. They are our bridge to the future.

According to Peggy Day and Susan Gale, the emergence of the Indigo children was foretold by Edgar Cayce long before Tappe's aura labeling.

One thesis of The Indigo Children seems to be that many children diagnosed as having attention deficit disorder (ADD) or ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) represent "a new kind of evolution of humanity." These children don't need drugs like Ritalin, but special care and training. The book consists of dozens of articles by authors from many walks of life. It is, accordingly, inconsistent and uneven in quality of analysis and advice. Nancy Ann Tappe is a contributor. One of the authors is Robert Gerard, Ph.D., whose piece is called "Emissaries from Heaven." He believes his daughter is an Indigo Child. He also thinks "Most Indigos see angels and other beings in the etheric." He runs Oughten House Foundation, Inc., and sells angel cards. Another contributor is Doreen Virtue, an advocate of angel therapy who has found an even further evolved generation of children is now emerging: the Crystal children.

Not all the contributors are on the fringe of New Age metaphysics, however. For example, Dr. Judith Spitler McKee is a former preschool and elementary teacher and retired Eastern Michigan University professor. She spends her time trying to interest children in reading.

How to recognize the Indigo Child

*They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it)

*They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.

*Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are."

* They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).

*They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.

*They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.

*They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system).

*They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.

*They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").

*They are not shy in letting you know what they need.

One can understand why many parents would not want their child to be labeled as ADD or ADHD. The label implies imperfection. Some may even take it to mean the child is "damaged." Specifically, it means your child's behavior is due to a neuro-biological condition. To some, this is the same as having a malfunctioning brain or a mental disorder. Understandably, emotions run high here. Treatment of children with problems is a hot button issue for the mass media, attack lawyers, talk show hosts, columnists, and others not known for their role in clarifying complicated scientific or medical matters. Many jump on the bandwagon and attack the drug industry and psychiatrists for overdrugging our children. Opposition is fruitless, because few will listen to those who would defend those who “abuse” children. Fewer still will bother to investigate to see whether the critics know what they are talking about.

In any case, no matter how many long-term studies are done that find nothing spectacularly wrong with Ritalin, there will always be the possibility that the next one will find something horrible. For example, "researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, say their study, tracking ADHD youths into adulthood, has found a connection between Ritalin use and later abuse of tobacco, cocaine and other stimulants" (Donohue 2000). Is the connection strong enough to warrant worry? How can we be sure it wasn't the ADHD, rather than the Ritalin, that was the main basis for the connection?

The hype and near-hysteria surrounding the use of Ritalin has contributed to an atmosphere that makes it possible for a book like Indigo Children to be taken seriously. Given the choice, who wouldn't rather believe their children are special and chosen for some high mission rather than that they have a brain disorder?

Part 2 of this mini series of reports will follow shortly. If you think this is all mumbo jumbo, fine. However, if it makes you open your mind and think a little, then it was well worth the time to do it.

Man Tells Wis. Police He's a Werewolf

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - A former inmate told police that he was a werewolf and could change shapes after he was arrested for breaking into a woman's apartment. Robert Marsh, 39, appeared Friday in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court on charges of criminal trespassing, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.

A woman called police about 3 a.m. Thursday and said Marsh broke through the deadbolt on her door and grabbed her. Two men in the home stopped him, a criminal complaint said.

The woman said she had been letting Marsh stay with her since his release from prison several days earlier because he was homeless, the complaint said.

Marsh had been drinking heavily and claimed to be a werewolf and involved in a witch religion, the woman told police. When police arrested Marsh, he told them he was a werewolf who could change forms, the complaint said.

Marsh had a small amount of marijuana on him when he was arrested, the complaint said.
Marsh was scheduled for a court hearing on March 14. Cash bail was set at $5,000.

Alaska Moose Brings Down Helicopter

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A helicopter is not necessarily a match for an angry moose. Instead of lying down after being shot with a tranquilizer dart, a moose charged a hovering helicopter used by a wildlife biologist, damaging the aircraft's tail rotor and forcing it to the ground.

Neither the pilot nor the biologist was injured, but the moose was maimed by the spinning rotor and had to be euthanized, wildlife officials said.

"It just had to be one of those quirky circumstance. Even dealing with bears and goats and moose and wolves, this is pretty unusual and truly a very unique situation," said Doug Larsen, regional supervisor for the Division of Wildlife Conservation.

Biologist Kevin White was aboard the chartered helicopter on Saturday for a study of moose near Gustavus, a community of 459 people about 50 miles northwest of Juneau in southeast Alaska. Moose outnumber humans there 2-to-1, White has written in an essay for the Department of Fish and Game Web site.

He shot the animal with a tranquilizer dart, Larsen said, and the pilot maneuvered the helicopter to keep the animal from slipping into a tight space or collapsing in water and drowning.

"The moose would start to move, and then the helicopter would back off and try to keep the moose out in the open," Larsen said.

But instead of moving toward open space, the moose charged the helicopter.

"As the animal got closer and closer to going down, an animal sort of loses its thinking - its ability to rationalize what's in its best interest," Larsen said.

Story number one is what is wrong with the Earth these days. There are way TOO MANY people walking around like this. Hopefully, as time passes, one of these days these type of people will be weeded out. Permanently!

Story number two is just another reason why humans should just leave the animals alone! Now the poor moose is no longer with us. Through no fault of his own. Yeah, I know, "the moose charged the helicopter". If the copter was not out there screwing around with the wildlife, the scene never would have happened.

We are now halfway through our seven-leveled chakra system. Below us are the first three chakras which relate to things and activities in the external physical world. Above us are the top three chakras which relate to internal representations of the physical world that are experienced mentally. The fourth chakra, located over the heart, is the balance point between these two extremes: the integrator of mind and body, believed to be the central home of the spirit.

The 12-petaled lotus symbol of the heart chakra contains within it two intersecting triangles forming a six-pointed star. These triangles represent the force of matter moving upward toward liberation and the force of spirit moving into manifestation. It is at this chakra that they are evenly combined, creating a center of peace and balance.

The heart chakra is related to the element air and the quality of love. Air is formless, largely invisible, absolutely necessary, and the least dense of our first four elements. Air is expansive as it will expand to fit any space it is put into, yet it is soft and gentle.

So, too, is love. Love is the expansion of the heart, the transcendence of boundaries, the interconnectedness of spirit. Love is balance, ease, softness, forgiveness. And love at the heart chakra is felt as a state of being, existing independently of any object or person, unlike the passion-oriented love of the second chakra.

The Sanskrit name for this chakra is Anahata, which means "sound that is made without any two things striking." This describes a state where we are no longer fighting or confronting what we love but moving with it in graceful harmony. The fight of the third chakra gives way to graceful acceptance in the fourth.

Because Anahata is related to the element air, it is accessible through the breath. The Hindus call the breath prana, which means "first unit," and they believe it contains the essence of all vitality and nourishment, being the point of commonality between the mental and physical worlds. Opening up the breath, unloosening whatever tensions are constricting it, is a way of accessing the heart chakra.

If the heart chakra is closed down, the very core of us suffers. Our breathing is shallow, slowing down our metabolism and our physical energy. Blocked at the center, we feel divided between mind and body. We pull in to ourselves, withdraw, and become a closed system.

When the heart chakra is too open, there is a tendency to give all our time and energy away, to be so focused on "other" that we lose our own center.

Ideally, the heart chakra should radiate love from a strong, solid center of self-acceptance and reach out with supportive care and compassion toward others. With its essential message of balance, our self-love and love for others need to be balanced and interconnected.

Directly below the heart chakra is another small lotus that is seldom talked about but significant to the heart chakra. Called the Anandakanda lotus, it has eight petals and contains the Kalpataru, or the Celestial Wishing Tree. In front of the tree is an altar for worship, and it is believed that the tree contains the deeper wishes of the heart chakra—those things we hardly dare name but are most integral to our deepest hopes. It is believed that when one worships at this altar by wishing from the heart, the tree bestows even more than is desired.

The operating force in this chakra is the force of equilibrium. That which stays in balance has longevity and lives in harmony. Enter the peaceful balance of the heart within yourself and others, and you will experience the mysteries of Anahata.

The Arch Exercise

Form the grounding position of chakra 1 and begin breathing into your legs, building up some charge." Then bring the charge into your pelvis by moving your hips back and forth until your second chakra feels some of this same energy. When your hips and belly feel connected, begin to form an arch with your body, keeping your knees bent, thrusting your pelvis forward, then your stomach and chest, and finally reaching upward with your arms, head back. (Be gentle with your spine, and do not hold this position if you feel any discomfort.)

If you are holding the position correctly, you should feel a vibration in your chest. Breathe into this and relax as much as you can in this difficult position, imagining a green light filling and opening your heart.

Return slowly to your upright position, keeping the knees slightly bent, and slowly return your arms to your sides, eyes closed. Stand at rest a few moments to feel the effects of this exercise. Repeat when ready.

Hopefully, this posting will further your knowledge of the chakras. A lot of what the third eye chakra gives you, is not necessarily for the third dimension. The heart chakra deals more with what effects you in this, the third dimension.
