Nintendo Wii & Sports Injuries

Imagine you have not swung a baseball bat in a long time. Then, one of your buds says, "hey why don't we go to the batting cages and hit a few"? "Sounds like a plan to me, lets do it". 50 swings later, your done!

Imagine you have not bowled since who knows when. You go to the local bowling alley and roll 4 games. Trying your hardest to get at least a 200 game!

Imagine it's a beautiful day and you and a friend decide to play a best of 5 sets of tennis. Though you have not held a tennis racquet in 89 years, you give it your best shot.

If you did any of the above sporting functions, your body and every extremity would ache and be sore for days! Right?

Well guess what? I did all of the above on the Nintendo Wii and I am just as sore, ache just as much and feel worse than if I would have done these on their respective playing fields. With the real equipment.

Though you DO NOT use the actual equipment for playing these sports, you none the less have to make the same motions. Therefore, you are still using the muscles, joints and tendons etc. What makes playing the game worse is, since you do not use the actual bowling ball, tennis racquet, or baseball bat, you have a false sense of "hey, I can do this all night"!

That is exactly what I did and I am "MISERABLE"! The moral is, "DO NOT OVERDUE PLAYING YOUR SPORTING EVENTS"! You will pay!

A little side note for all you folks looking for a "get away from the snow" vacation. My brother Billy in Hawaii has just listed a "vacation rental" property that he and wife Rose own. If you would like to check it out, go to Vacation Rentals .com - Keaau Hawaii Patience & Malikai's Place
